Reuters and other news agencies reported on the 3rd (local time) that an Iraqi minority Yazidi girl, kidnapped by the Islamic State (IS) when she was 11 years old, was rescued in the Palestinian Gaza Strip after 10 years.
Iraqi Foreign Minister's Chief of Staff Silwan Shinzari announced that Fazia Sido (21) was successfully rescued after a 4-month secret operation involving Iraq, the United States, and Israel, and that Sido and is currently with her family in northern Iraq.
Shinzari said that the rescue process was difficult due to several failures amid difficult security environment caused by Israel's attack on the Gaza Strip.
Shinzari explained that Sido's health is relatively good, but she is mentally shocked due to her long captivity and the harsh conditions in the Gaza Strip.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Sia al-Sudani reportedly personally supervised the rescue operation with US officials in New York, where the UN General Assembly was held.
In relation to this, sources said that Iraqi officials had been in contact with Sido for several months and sent her personal information to Israel through the US to receive assistance in rescuing her from the Gaza Strip.
Iraq and Israel do not have diplomatic relations.
The Israeli military also announced in a statement that day that it had conducted a complex covert operation in cooperation with the US embassy in Jerusalem and “other foreign powers” to rescue Sido.
Sido fled and hid after the person who had been holding her captive was killed in the Gaza war, and the Israeli side added that his death may have been caused by an Israeli airstrike.
The Israeli military said that Sido, who was rescued from the Gaza Strip, traveled through Israel and Jordan to northern Iraq, where he met with his family from whom he had been separated.
A U.S. State Department spokesperson also confirmed that a Yazidi woman who was kidnapped in Iraq at the age of 11 and trafficked to the Gaza Strip was helped to leave Gaza safely and reunite with her family on the 1st.

In 2014, IS attacked Sanjar, a Yazidi region in northern Iraq, killing 5,000 people and kidnapping 6,000.
After several years of efforts, 3,500 people returned, but 2,600 are still missing.

Set them free from the lies, and lead them to believe in the Truth which is Jesus Christ.
May you lead them to repent and live for Jesus with greater zeal than before!
Forgive the people who have sinned against you, and forgive all the sins they have committed against you! Please save the minorities in Iraq who are dying, deceived by the false spirit of Islam.
