[2026 Ramadan] Day 23 — The Fulfillment of the Prophecy of Isaiah 19! Egypt, become the mother of nations that will bear the great harvest of the Arabs! Sudan, a people who will trample their enemies!

The Fulfillment of the Prophecy of Isaiah 19! Egypt, become the mother of the nations that will carry the great harvest of the Arabs!

<Egypt>

23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and Assyria will come into Egypt, and Egypt into Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians. Isaiah 19:23

Egypt is a place where, for more than a thousand years, Islam and Christianity have maintained sharp tensions without crossing into each other’s domains. Muslims in Egypt, which has long been the ideological center of Islamic fundamentalist movements, are more strongly armed with Islamic ideology than those in any other country. Therefore, although there are about ten million Christians—around 10% of the total population—education and ministry have been carried out only within the church, and there has been much fear and resistance to going outside the church to reach Muslims.

In Egypt, even before Ramadan, homes are decorated with beautiful lights and houses are cleaned thoroughly. Also, in cities everywhere, bands playing traditional pipes and drums march through the streets. In addition, during the fasting period, after completing the daily fasting and rituals of holiness, families gather and joyfully share a meal together (iftar). Thus it appears almost like a festival. Because of this, people look forward to Ramadan as a time when they become more devout and enjoy harmony with their families.

Egypt’s economy, since 2016, suffered difficulties due to the IMF situation, COVID-19, the decline of tourists caused by the Ukraine-Russia war, rising wheat prices, and the influx of refugees from nearby conflicts in Sudan and Israel-Palestine. However, through the Egyptian government’s continued economic structural reforms and spending limitation policies, strong economic growth began to recover after mid-2025. Through infrastructure investment and industrial diversification, as of the first half of 2026 the country continues stable growth.

In step with this stable growth in Egypt, a revival of the Egyptian church and a new wind of the Arab missionary movement are now rising in Egypt. Fourteen years after the martyrdom of the late missionary Kim Norae, the Arab Vision Camp (AVC), which began afterward, will again be held during this Ramadan period. Those who remain in this land like stumps (a remnant) carry the cross daily, dreaming of revival in Egypt and the Arab world, meeting churches and believers in Christ and inviting them to AVC. Through this AVC we believe that all Arabs will hear the gospel of the kingdom, come to the Lord, and prepare the way for His return.

“In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth. The LORD Almighty will bless them, saying, ‘Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance.’” (Isaiah 19:24-25)

For about two months now, the Egyptian community has been waking up at dawn every day praying that Arab Muslims would return to the Lord. Also, for AVC, they proclaim prayer declarations one by one and gather hearts of supplication before the Lord. Through the united prayer of the community, we hope that during Ramadan the spirits and souls of all Muslims who bow to vain idols and endure hunger following false laws will be opened so that they may seek the true truth and salvation. We also hope that within our community more active evangelism toward them will arise during this Ramadan period. Through our daily prayers for Muslims we believe that an explosive great harvest will arise in Egypt and the Arab world.

We want to share about Brother D, who is helping prepare this revival. Brother D is from a Muslim-background family from a neighboring country that decided together as a family to believe in Jesus and then moved to Egypt. Fleeing persecution from relatives, they came to Egypt and lived in many difficult circumstances, but through a house church he grew by the grace of the Lord and now serves in the local World Mission. He is also inviting Egyptian churches and believers to AVC for mobilization for this upcoming. Though still a youth, we believe Brother D will grow as a true disciple of Christ, and through him many Muslims in Egypt and the Arab world will return to the Lord and an amazing revival will occur.

[Today’s Prayer]

1. During this Ramadan period, as war has broken out between Israel and Iran, deeper darkness and intense spiritual warfare are taking place across the Arab lands more than ever before. Through AVC being held in Egypt, may the light of Jesus Christ—who existed from the beginning—cover the Arab lands, and may Arab Muslims who have rejected the gospel for centuries receive the Lord’s new Spirit and return to Him.

2. May the Arab churches and believers attending AVC rise up as workers who will carry the final great harvest of the Arab world.

<Sudan>

Sudan is a country located in the region called Cush in the Bible. In the 6th century it was a powerful Christian kingdom, but in the 16th century it was conquered by Arabs and became Islamized. As Islamization progressed, Christianity began to collapse, and Christians were imprisoned simply for being Christians and had to risk their lives to protect their churches. Out of a population of 46 million, less than about 3% remain Christians.

In April 2019, President Omar al-Bashir was ousted after 30 years and the Islamist fundamentalist dictatorship collapsed. Afterwards the transitional government abolished the death penalty for converts and declared the separation of religion and state. During that time when the door was opening in Sudan, the military seized power and citizens responded with protests. On April 15, 2023, civil war began between government forces and rebels. At least 12,000 people have died, and about 30% of the total population has been displaced, mainly fleeing to neighboring countries such as Chad, South Sudan, and Egypt. While traveling overland to nearby countries, people shiver in cold and hunger, brothers are captured by rebels and taken to rebel bases, and women are subjected to sexual violence. Social infrastructure has collapsed and many areas, including the capital Khartoum, have become ruins. Sudan is in a terrible situation out of control due not only to violence from the civil war but also to multiple disasters such as famine and floods. Especially famine has spread to many regions and more than 8.1 million people are at risk of starvation.

Normally most Sudanese Muslims are secular and have weak religious identity, but during Ramadan their Islamic practices and thinking grow stronger through religious solidarity. Sudanese refugees struggle to settle and live in unfamiliar lands, but life in a strange land is not easy. Although many Sudanese confess that they have no hope, we believe they will newly see that only Jesus is our hope, and that scattered Christians will rise in faith, hold onto the promised Word, and ultimately overcome.

Brother M, who lives as a refugee in Egypt, is a Christian who came to Egypt three years ago due to the Sudanese civil war and has grown through a house-church community. He faithfully attends the local World Mission worship gatherings and serves by inviting fellow Sudanese to AVC. Brother M will hold onto heavenly hope and grow as a soldier of Christ preparing the way for the Lord’s return. Through him many Sudanese who groan in suffering from the war will meet Christ and rise as new workers of the Lord.

At that time tribute will be brought to the Lord of hosts from a people tall and smooth, from a people feared near and far, a nation mighty and conquering, whose land the rivers divide, to Mount Zion, the place of the name of the Lord of hosts. (Isaiah 18:7)

[Today’s Prayer]

1. Have mercy on the Sudanese who are suffering under the civil war that has still not ended. Among those who are poor in spirit, let there be those who live with eternal hope. Shine Your light so that all the powers of death may depart and they may run toward the Lord of life.

2. During this Ramadan period, through the united and powerful prayers of the global church and the Arab church, may many Sudanese Muslims meet Christ through dreams and visions, and may many faith communities across the Arab world carry out explosive evangelism toward these Sudanese Muslims.
