Iran pledged to continue supporting Hezbollah amid regional tensions related to the Israel-Hamas war, the Associated Press reported on the 9th (local time).

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian pledged to continue supporting the Hezbollah group after arriving in the Lebanese capital Beirut today, saying that Lebanon's security affects the security of Iran and the region. Hezbollah is a pro-Iranian armed faction in Lebanon.

After 17 years of relative calm, Hezbollah launched attacks along the border between Lebanon and Israel on October 8 last year, a day after Hamas began its attacks. Hezbollah officials said they would stop attacking Israeli military posts once Israel's attack on Gaza ends.
