[Today’s Prayer] Hezbollah: “The war with Israel is a war for survival… preparing for a long war”

The pro-Iran armed political group Hezbollah in Lebanon stated on the 13th (local time) that it is prepared to engage in a prolonged war with Israel.

According to AFP, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem said in a televised speech that day, “We have prepared for a long confrontation, and if it is God’s will, they (Israel) will be surprised on the battlefield,” adding that the enemy’s threats do not frighten them.

He continued, emphasizing, “This war is not limited or a simple battle, but a war for survival.”

Qassem also said, “We will not allow the enemy to eliminate our existence or achieve its goal of controlling Lebanon, and we will remain an impenetrable barrier against them.”

After Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in airstrikes by the United States and Israel, Hezbollah attacked Israel in support of Iran. In response, Israel struck Lebanon and urged the Lebanese government to disarm Hezbollah.

Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz warned, “The Lebanese government will pay a severe price, including infrastructure destruction and territorial losses, until Hezbollah is completely disarmed.”

Lord, please intervene in the hearts of the leaders of Hezbollah and Israel. Do not allow anger and revenge toward one another to escalate into a greater war. Please mediate and bring restraint.

Lord, strengthen the churches in Israel and Lebanon and establish them firmly upon the rock of faith. In every situation, let them come before You in prayer and worship, and enable them to share the gospel with neighbors who are in fear and suffering. Grant the grace that the souls of Israel and Lebanon, whose hearts have become poor in spirit, may receive salvation in the name of Jesus Christ and be transferred from death to life.

At this time, let the global church also pray more earnestly. Let them go forth with the gospel and love to the souls of Israel and Lebanon who are in pain and suffering. Breathe the life of the Holy Spirit into the lands of Israel and Lebanon that have become dry through war, and let them come alive again through the gospel.

So that the souls of Israel and Lebanon, revived by the life of the gospel, may arise as holy people who prepare the way for the return of Jesus Christ. Let them arise as disciples who testify to the gospel of the kingdom to all nations.
