[Today's Prayer] Yemeni Government Losing Ground to the Houthis, Calls for Citizens to Enlist in “General Mobilization”

The Yemeni government, which is struggling against the Iran-aligned Houthi rebels, has issued a general mobilization order calling on its citizens to enlist.

Rashad al-Alimi, the head of Yemen’s internationally recognized government, called on citizens to participate in the general mobilization and join the government forces in a speech to the nation on the 25th (local time).

President al-Alimi, who is currently staying in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, also announced an amnesty initiative targeting defectors from the rebel forces.

He said, “Beginning on the 26th, Houthi fighters and affiliated personnel who leave their organizations and defect to the government side will be granted a full amnesty in the future.”
