As a large wildfire spreads near Jerusalem, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared a state of emergency and warned that the wildfires could reach the city center.
According to the Times of Israel and AFP on the 1st (local time), Prime Minister Netanyahu said in a video statement that day, "Westward winds are spreading the fires to the outskirts of Jerusalem, and (the wildfires) could even reach the city center," and that "this is not a local emergency, but a national emergency."
He continued, "We must mobilize as many fire trucks as possible to create a fire line that extends far beyond the current fire line," and emphasized that "protecting Jerusalem is our top priority."
A wildfire broke out near Jerusalem the day before. As the wildfires continued for the second day, evacuation orders were issued in several areas and several major roads were closed.
Israeli Defense Minister Katz also called the wildfire a “national emergency” and requested international support.
Rescue teams treated about 23 injured people, 13 of whom were taken to hospital for smoke inhalation and burns. In addition, 17 firefighters were injured.

Therefore, he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them (Hebrews 7:25)
We have heard that a large-scale wildfire has occurred near Jerusalem, Israel, and several areas have been ordered to evacuate and several major roads have been closed.
The wildfire that occurred just before Independence Day has caused a national emergency to the point that all events have been canceled, and there are circumstances where the wildfire appears to have been intentionally set and an arsonist has been arrested at the scene. We pray that the Lord will help the Israeli government make its judgment and protect Jerusalem.
In the midst of the ongoing war of nerves and wars between Israel and several Arab countries, centered around Israel, the souls of Israel must be even more exhausted by the wildfires that seem to be acts of terrorism. May the Lord have mercy on them and comfort them with grace like the river of the water of life.
May the body and soul of the people of Israel find rest in the shadow of the wings of Jesus Christ, who is their refuge, and may this be a time for them to approach God, so that the power of the living Jesus Christ may come upon Israel and Jerusalem.
May the weather control the fire so that it can be quickly extinguished, and may we pray and help both inside and outside Israel, and may the churches in Israel and the world work together to help the victims of this fire.
In this way, may the people and territory of Israel return to Yeshua, be washed in the grace of the blood that springs forth like water, and see the time of the last revival as the last disciples.
