Nepalese authorities have recovered three bodies in connection with an accident in which two buses were swept into a river by a landslide in Nepal.

According to AP and AFP news agencies on the 14th (local time), Nepal rescue authorities found one body about 55 km away from the accident site the previous day, and two additional bodies were found nearby. Nepalese authorities explained that one of the dead was an Indian national

Despite the recovery of three bodies, the fate of about 50 missing people is still unknown.

For this reason, rescue authorities are continuing to search for buses swept into the river and missing people by mobilizing boats, drones, underwater cameras, and divers.

However, due to continued torrential rain, the river has swelled significantly, the flow speed is very fast, and the turbidity is high, making the search operation difficult.

EFE news agency reported, citing an anonymous police official who participated in the search, that the possibility of finding additional survivors is minimal considering the circumstances of the accident and the flow of the river.

Earlier, at around 3:30 a.m. on the 12th, a landslide occurred on the Narayanghat-Mugling highway, about 100 km southwest of the capital Kathmandu, and landslide hit two passing buses.

In this accident, two buses ran off the road, fell into the Trishuli River, which had swollen due to heavy rain, and were swept away by the river.

Nepalese authorities initially announced that 66 people were on board the two buses, but corrected the number to say that there were about 50 people on board, saying that some passengers got off before the accident.

In Nepal, where most of the country is mountainous, landslides frequently occur during the rainy season, which runs from June to September.

This year, more than 50 people have died due to landslides and floods since the monsoon season began in mid-last month, and on the 11th, a landslide occurred in the Kaski region of central Nepal, killing 11 people.

“‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. (Acts 2:17)

A landslide in Nepal sends two buses into a river, killing three people and leaving more than 50 missing and unaccounted for.

Allow the missing people to be found quickly, and may you comfort the hearts of their families in their suffering.

We pray that the gospel will spread in Nepal, where it is full of idols, so that no soul will ever die without knowing Jesus.

As the coming of our Lord is not long soon, would you pour out your Spirit on the souls of the earth, so that marvellous work may be done, that the children may prophesy, the young may see visions, and the old may dream the dreams of the Lord.

Lead Nepal with strong revival and fill it with those who preach the gospel with the power of the Holy Spirit.
