[Today’s Prayer] Netanyahu cornered by hostage deaths… Pressure to reach ceasefire agreement grows

Pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to reach a ceasefire agreement has intensified following the discovery of six hostages dead in a tunnel in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, Palestine.

Minister Galant emphasized that the decision of the war cabinet to station troops in the Philadelphia Corridor, a buffer zone between the Gaza Strip and the Egyptian border, must be reversed.

Prime Minister Netanyahu decided to maintain troops in the Philadelphia Corridor under the pretext of preventing Hamas from smuggling weapons from Egypt. This is seen as a major obstacle to negotiations with Hamas.

They were all between the ages of 23 and 32, four men and two women. Goldberg-Pauline was an Israeli-American and Lobanov was a Russian-Israeli.

Local media outlets, including the Times of Israel, reported that the hostages appeared to have been killed just before the arrival of the Israeli military.

The hostages' families have strongly demanded that Prime Minister Netanyahu take responsibility and explain why negotiations have been delayed.

"The hostages survived abuse, torture, and starvation during the 11 months of Hamas captivity, and were killed a few days ago," the families said in a statement. "The delay in negotiations has led to the deaths of these hostages and many others."

Hamas claimed that Israel's refusal to sign a ceasefire agreement was the cause of the hostage's death.

Sami Abu Zuri, a senior Hamas official, said in an interview with Reuters that Netanyahu was responsible for the killing of Israeli hostages and that Israel must choose between negotiating with Netanyahu.

Prime Minister Netanyahu lashed out at Hamas for rejecting the negotiation proposal. He said, "Those who kill hostages do not want to negotiate."

Meanwhile, the Israeli military has determined that 33 of the 251 hostages kidnapped in Hamas' surprise attack on October 7 last year have died and 97 are still in the Gaza Strip.

As surely as I valued your life today, so may the Lord value my life and deliver me from all trouble.” (1 Samuel 26:24)

God, we hear that six Israeli hostages have been found dead in a cave in Gaza, Palestine and that the families of the hostages are crying out for a negotiated settlement.

With 97 hostages still in Gaza and negotiations stalled, the families of the hostages are doing everything they can to help.

Lord, we pray that the news of the hostages' suffering and death will now cease.

We ask that the Lord, who values life, intervene in this situation and have compassion on those who do evil because they do not know Your will and stop the killing.

Pour out on Israel and Hamas the heart of Jesus, who loved them enough to give His life to save them.

Holy Spirit, work in their hearts and minds to come to know the love of Jesus Christ from the depths of their souls.

May they be led by the Holy Spirit to realize the truth, and may grace be poured out upon them to repent, that they may cease all warfare and rise together holding fast the cross of Jesus Christ.

So that death and war may cease to be a thing of the past in the land of Israel and Palestine, and that they may awaken to the praise of the name of Jesus Christ, who gave his life to reconcile!
