A landslide occurred in eastern Afghanistan, killing 25 people.

According to AFP on the 19th (local time), a landslide occurred in the eastern Nuristan province the previous day due to heavy rain and heavy snow, and the village of Nakre in the Tartan Valley was swept away.

The Afghan Ministry of Disaster Management announced that 25 people, including village residents, were killed in the landslide, 8 others were injured, and about 20 houses were severely damaged.

Additionally, there are still missing people under the snow and debris, and the military is being deployed to conduct rescue operations.

However, local authorities explained that work is progressing slowly as heavy equipment cannot be deployed due to bad weather, and "the number of deaths may increase."
