On the 24th (current time), England’s BBC and the New York Times reported that an Israeli tank in the southern region of Gaza attacked a UN refugee facility (UNRWA) for Palestinians in the city of Khan Younis, killing 12 people and injuring over 75 others.

Israeli forces believe that Hamas leadership is hiding in Khan Yunis, and is currently engaged in street battles in order to siege and take over the region.

Thomas White, who is in charge of the UNRWA in the Gaza region, posted on the social media platform ‘X’, “Attack on Khan Younis Training Centre this afternoon - two tank rounds hit building that shelters 800 people”.

The building targeted has “UN Facility” clearly written on it, and this information is also shared with Israeli authorities according to the UN.

UNRWA Executive Chairman Philip Lazarini criticized Israel saying, “(Israel) once again blatantly ignored the basic rules of war.”

America has also criticized the Israeli attacks.

The chief deputy spokesman for the State Department, Vedant Patel said the attacks were "deplorable" and that "civilians and U.N. facilities should be protected."

According to reports by England’s Reuters, the U.S. has previously raised concerns about Israel's specific military operations, but that this is the first time it has made a public criticism.

However, Israeli forces are denying the attacks and saying that the UNRWA education center is “investigating the possibility of the attack being due to Hamas cross fire.”

(Omit)

This situation is pouring cold water on the current ceasefire negotiations with Hamas which were already in jeopardy.

The Associated Press stated on the same day, "There is a wide gap between Israel, which wants to release all hostages held in Gaza, and Hamas which is demanding the withdrawal of all Israeli troops from Gaza. It seems unlikely that an agreement will be reached.”

Israel and Hamas are negotiating a deal, including the release of Israeli hostages and a 30-day ceasefire.

Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. (Matt. 26:26-28)

Lord, we hear that in this time when Israel and Hamas are negotiating another ceasefire, the Israeli military attacked a U.N. refugee facility where hundreds of Palestinian refugees were staying, causing more than 80 casualties.

As we hear the news of death every day due to the ongoing conflict and war, it seems that we can't see when this war will end.

But the Lord tore his body on the cross for the peace of Israel and Palestine, and poured out the blood of the covenant to forgive all their sins.

May the blood of the covenant that was poured out upon the cross break the history of retribution between these nations.

May Israel and Palestine become one in Jesus Christ, the son of God who bore the cross.

May they be restored as two nations that will lead all nations back to the Lord.
