[Today’s Prayer] Israel "prepared for all scenarios" over Iran's warning of retaliation for "air strike on consulate"

While Iran has vowed to retaliate against the attack on its consulate in Syria, Israel is strengthening its preparedness, saying they are "prepared for all scenarios."

According to the Times of Israel on the 3rd (local time), the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it had strengthened air defenses and called up reserves in preparation for Iran's potential response to the death of senior Iranian military officials in an airstrike in Syria.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said Israel was stepping up its preparedness against threats across the Middle East and was expanding operations against Hezbollah and other groups that threaten us. “We must prepare and prepare for all scenarios and threats against near and far enemies," he said, stressing that "we will know how to protect the Israeli people and attack the enemy."

The decision was reportedly based on the assessment that Iran may launch missiles directly from Iranian territory without using proxy forces.

Amos Yadlin, former head of military intelligence, told Channel 12 in an interview that "it is not surprising if Iran attacks Israel directly," noting that Iran's missile strike on Pakistan in January set a precedent.

In this case, tensions are expected to rise further in the Middle East as the IDF is likely to retaliate at a corresponding level.

Israel attacked the Iranian consulate in Syria on the 1st. This attack killed seven high-ranking military officials, including the supreme commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force.

Iran immediately vowed to retaliate. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in a speech on the 3rd, "Israel will definitely be slapped (for this attack)," again signaling a retaliatory response.

Be gracious to me, O Lord! See my affliction from those who hate me, O you who lift me up from the gates of death, that I may recount all your praises, that in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in your salvation. Psalm 9:13-14

Lord, as we approach Ramadan’s night of power, we see that the conflict between Israel and its neighboring countries is growing deeper.

We continuously hear news of attacking and killing one another.

However, Lord, You do not neglect the cries of their pain.

Lord, may You come upon Israel and Palestine, and to Iran and to all people of the Middle East, and raise them from the door of death.

And may they praise the Lord and rejoice in salvation.

Through these nations, may all nations see the Lord!
