The Myanmar military regime declared an extension of the ceasefire for earthquake recovery, but the civil war continues, increasing civilian casualties.
According to AFP on the 9th, the Karen National Union (KNU), an armed ethnic group in Kayin State in southeastern Myanmar, attacked a Myanmar military base about 2.5km from the Thai border on the 7th, resulting in a clash.
The Thai military announced the previous day that over 300 Myanmar residents fled across the border to Thailand due to this clash.
Thai authorities said, "Attacks using armed drones to drop bombs continued," and "327 Myanmar residents are in temporary shelters, and we are strengthening patrols in the border area."
The KNU is a group representing the Karen people, one of the largest ethnic minorities in Myanmar. The KNU, which is considered the most powerful of the major ethnic armed groups, has military organizations such as the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the Karen National Defense Organization (KNDO).
After the magnitude 7.7 earthquake that occurred in the central region on March 28, the key rebel group, the Brotherhood Alliance, and the Myanmar military government declared a ceasefire. The two sides have extended the ceasefire until the end of this month.
However, criticism has been raised that the Myanmar military continues to conduct airstrikes on rebel-controlled areas even during the ceasefire period.
In addition, fighting continued in various places because not all ethnic armed groups participated in the ceasefire. (omitted)

my enemies trample on me all day long, for many attack me proudly. When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. (Psalm 56:2-3)
In March, after the Myanmar earthquake, the Myanmar military regime declared an extension of the ceasefire for earthquake recovery, but we hear the sad news that the Karen rebels, a minority group, broke the ceasefire agreement and launched airstrikes on Myanmar Air Force areas, forcing the residents of the area to leave their homes without any time to recover from the damage caused by the earthquake.
Lord, I believe that you hear the suffering of the Myanmar people who are wandering in search of refuge without a place to rest, both spiritually and physically. By your love, may the hearts of the souls of Myanmar, who are in turmoil due to the aftereffects of the earthquake and the ongoing civil war, be restored.
At this moment, the Burmese, who make up the majority of Myanmar, and the Karen, who are a minority but maintain their ethnic identity, and other ethnic minorities consider each other as enemies and try to devour each other, but may You hear the prayers of those who rely on you and put an end to the suffering due to the conflicts over Myanmar territory.
Instead of the land for our flesh that will perish, may they receive the citizenship of the eternal kingdom of God through the rapid evangelization. For this, may the ASEAN church and the global church join together to intercede.
The power to make Myanmar unite lies only in Jesus. May all the ethnic gourds become one in the Lord and together glorify the true Lord of Myanmar, Jesus!
May the love of Christ and gospel spread even to the ethnic minorities of Myanmar, covering Myanmar with the gospel!
May all the people of Myanmar unite through the gospel, commissioning 50,000 missionaries and rise up as the people of the last golden key, going out to all nations to testify about Jesus!
