[Today's Prayer] Casualties approaching 800 just one day... “Hell, came back to Gaza”
It was reported that the number of casualties approached 800 on the 1st (local time) after the temporary suspension of fighting between Israel and the Palestinian armed faction Hamas ended.
According to the Guardian and Al Jazeera, the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip's Health Ministry announced that at least 184 people were killed and 589 injured in Israeli airstrikes on this day. There were at least 773 casualties. More than 20 homes were also damaged.
The Health Ministry said most of the casualties were children and women.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it conducted airstrikes on about 200 targets across the Gaza Strip starting at 7 a.m. on the first day of the resumption of attacks.
Some took place in the southern provinces of Khan Yunis and Rafah, where hundreds of thousands of civilians have taken refuge. The IDF said it destroyed booby-trapped structures, tunnels, rocket launchers and other infrastructure belonging to Hamas.
Medical staff and witnesses testified that the bombings were most intense in Khan Yunis and Rafah.
About 50 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip toward southern Israeli cities.
Fighting continued in the area bordering Lebanon in northern Israel.

IDF Chief of Staff Herzy Halevi met with the military leadership on this day to discuss operations prior to the start of the second phase of the war.
Meanwhile, the White House condemned Hamas as responsible for the resumption of the war, but made it clear that it was continuing to cooperate with mediation countries to resume the ceasefire.
The White House National Security Council (NSC) issued a statement on this day under the name of a spokesperson, saying, “Hamas has not yet released a list of hostages that would enable an extension of the ceasefire,” and added, “We will continue to release the remaining hostages and maintain and expand the international humanitarian response.” “I will be deeply involved,” he said.
The UN is concerned that the humanitarian emergency will worsen dramatically due to this fighting.
“Hell on Earth has returned to Gaza,” said Jens Laerke, spokesman for the UN humanitarian office.

Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; but if he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times a day and seven times he returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ forgive him. (Luke 17:3-4)
Lord, we hear the devastating news of 800 casualties just one day after the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Palestine.
Airstrikes have been carried out across the Gaza Strip since the morning of the first day of resumption of attacks, and intense bombing is continuing not only here but also in the southern region, where hundreds of thousands of civilians have taken refuge.
We see the miserable situation in which the Israeli-Palestinian people, who were originally brothers and sisters in the Lord, are now blindly killing each other by holding on to thoughts and ideologies other than the truth.
Lord, please have mercy on these two peoples. Please wash their covered eyes with the precious blood that you shed.
I pray that you will hold them up and shake them with your crucified hands so that they may become one, so that these two nations will wake up and see Jesus Christ.
Let the cries of these two peoples, who were angry, calling each other sinners, lead to repentance by realizing that they are sinners, so that the power of the cross to forgive each other's sins can be poured out on the two peoples.
Through your power, please help us put an end to the ever-increasing number of meaningless deaths and allow us to rise up and love each other passionately through forgiveness through the cross.
In this way, the long history of conflict between the two peoples will be ended, and only the name Yeshua, who has resolved the conflict between the two peoples that no one could resolve, will be exalted on this earth.
Please allow all nations to witness and praise Yeshua, the only savior who resolves the Israel-Palestine conflict!
