[Today’s Prayer] Another terrorist attack on a polio vaccination team in Pakistan… “9 dead, including students”

Another terrorist attack targeting a medical team conducting polio vaccinations occurred in Pakistan, killing nine people, including five students, and injuring more than 10 others.

According to Pakistani daily Dawn and other sources on the 2nd (local time), a bomb attack occurred the day before near a girls' school in the Mastung area of the southwestern Balochistan province, targeting a police vehicle guarding a polio vaccination team.

Local police said a homemade bomb attached to a parked motorcycle exploded, killing nine people, including five students, a police officer and bystanders, and wounding 17 others.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.

The polio virus is highly contagious and spreads through contaminated water such as sewage, but it has been eliminated in most countries thanks to global vaccination.

However, in Pakistan and neighboring Afghanistan, some Islamic clerics and extremists oppose the polio vaccine, claiming it is un-Islamic and a Western conspiracy to sterilize Muslim children, and thus the vaccination rate is low.

For this reason, Pakistani health authorities frequently carry out polio vaccination campaigns, visiting homes to vaccinate children, but attacks targeting the vaccination teams continue each time.

Authorities launched a new vaccination campaign last month, lasting a week, to vaccinate 45 million children under the age of five against polio, but a day later, on the 29th, an armed group attacked a health center in the northwest, shooting two police officers dead.

In the midst of this tragic situation where Pakistan is taking the lives of its own people in a wrongful act of worship to a false god, may God's compassionate grace be extended to the Pakistani people, who must be in fear not only of polio but also of terrorism.

May the grace of the marvelous love of our Lord, who saved us and loved us, not because of any works, but because he loved us for who we are, and gave his Son to save us through faith in his Son's name, be upon Pakistan.

May the nation of Pakistan be purified by the precious blood of Jesus Christ on the cross! May it be set free from every spirit of false religion! May we become a people of the kingdom of God in eternal life through Thy saving grace, and may they now be a nation of holy priests to bring all the nations!
