[Today’s prayer] Another public execution in Afghanistan… Two murderers shot dead in front of thousands of people

The Taliban, an Islamic militant organization that is in power in Afghanistan, has carried out another public execution.
According to the Associated Press and AFP on the 23rd (local time), Taliban authorities shot to death two men convicted of murder at a soccer stadium in Ghazni, southeastern Afghanistan, in front of thousands of citizens at around 1 p.m. the previous day.
"These two men were found guilty of murder, and the death sentence was ordered after a two-year trial in court," Supreme Court official Atiqullah Darwish said before the execution, reading out a death warrant signed by Taliban leader Haibatullah Akhundzada.
Religious scholars pleaded with the victims' families to forgive the death row inmates, but the families refused and the executions were carried out.

The Taliban explained that they were convicted of murder and sentenced to death after three trials, including in the court, appeals court, and supreme court.
However, human rights group Rawadari claimed that unfair investigations and trials were conducted, including torture, forced confessions, and violation of the principle of presumption of innocence.
After retaking power in August 2021, the Taliban introduced Islamic law (Sharia) as law. In particular, in 2022, Akundzada emphasized to the judges that "after carefully investigating the case of theft, kidnapping, sedition, etc., they are responsible for enforcing hudud and qisas if they meet all the conditions of Shari'ah." Punishment is being implemented accordingly.
Hudud is an Islamic punishment for serious crimes such as murder, robbery, rape, and adultery, and is known to include beheading, stoning, amputation, and flogging. Qisas is a concept of proportional correspondence, meaning ‘an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.’
This is the third time since December 2022 and June 2023 that the Taliban has carried out public executions since coming back to power.

Lord, we hear that two men were publicly executed in a football stadium in Afghanistan under the execution of the Taliban.
Since the Taliban conquered Afghanistan, we see that Afghan souls are living each day in fear and fear under the Taliban's rule. I hope that the Lord will be with this people and comfort their sad hearts.
Also, “Love the Lord your God. We want to end all evil practices that dominate Afghanistan and the entire Islamic world through Sharia law, such as Hudud and Qisas, which are contrary to God's words, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
May the Lord sit down as the King of Afghanistan and liberate this nation from the evil laws of the world, and lead them to the cross of Jesus Christ, who is eternal freedom and life.
Please help them to become people who no longer place their hopes and eyes on this land full of pain and sorrow, but instead give all their eyes and hearts to the Lord, hoping for the eternal kingdom of God.
