Indian-born Canadian poet Rupi Kaur... He wrote that he will not attend the event celebrating the Hindu holiday ‘Diwali’ hosted by the White House on the 8th.
“Supporting the atrocities taking place in Palestine is diametrically opposed to what this holiday means to most of us,” he said. “I decline to invite organizations that support collective punishment of isolated civilians.” “The U.S. government is funding the bombing of Gaza.” Not only that, but they continue to justify the massacre of Palestinians,” he wrote, adding, “Let’s demand a humanitarian ceasefire, sign the petition, and go to the rally.”

Even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,”even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you. (Psalm 139:10-12)
Amen! We praise the Lord our God who is the light of all the earth.
God, we see anger against war spreading throughout the world due to the conflict in Israel and Palestine.
We pray to the Lord with sorrow as this darkness of mutual hatred and strife spreads to other nations.
God, we believe that even if darkness covers the nations, you are the God who firmly holds all nations.
May the power of the Lord, who shines even in the darkness like day, come upon all nations and fill the nations with the light of the Lord. Let that light silence all conflict and anger and revive life.
In this way, would you allow all nations to return to God's people, love one another, and praise the glory of the Lord together.
