[Field Story] Pakistani Christian girl kidnapped and forced into marriage
A Christian teenage girl was kidnapped and forced into a marriage in Pakistan, and her father is struggling to find justice.
According to the Christian Post (CP), on April 4, 2024, Sania Ameen (13) was kidnapped near her home located in her remote village of Anjo Tar Sialkot, Punjab city. “Her daughter was on her way to buy groceries for her family when she was dragged away by three men,” said her father, Ameen Masih.
He said that on the day of her abduction, he and her wife were contacted by another girl about Sania's disappearance. They quickly returned home and started looking for their missing daughter. Some witnesses reported that Sania had been kidnapped by a Muslim man named Saif Ali and two other men that were with him. Masi immediately filed a complaint with the police, but the police did not register it and instead accused him of being an irresponsible father who failed to protect his daughter.
He also emphasized, “Even considering the religious prejudice faced by Christians in Pakistan and the social support for the perpetrators, this underage marriage is undoubtedly a crime and a violation of Pakistani law.”
“As equal citizens of this land, we call on government authorities to help rescue our daughter. “She was forcibly detained and physically abused by her kidnappers in front of us while under law enforcement surveillance,” he said.

But I call to God, and the Lord will save me. (Psalm 55:16)
Lord God, who saves all those who call on You, we hear that a Pakistani girl had been kidnapped and forced into marriage.
Despite the father’s desperate plea, the police did not take any action and justified the kidnapping, saying that she converted to Islam.
May you strengthen the family and the girl that they may not forsake their faith in you despite the difficult circumstance and come to forgive their enemies by the love of the blood of the cross and share the gospel.
May you have mercy on the Pakistani Christians who are discriminated and unprotected by the government. Protect them under the shadow of your wings!
May the people of Pakistan who live in sin believing the false god of Allah come to thirst for the truth. Guide them, Lord, to encounter you as they call on you.
Through all those who have encountered you, may you grant a holy revival in Pakistan!
