[Field Story] Lebanon to Shine the Light of the Gospel

Hello, I am Ahmad, a Palestinian refugee living in Lebanon.

I live in a refugee camp for Palestinians inside Lebanon. My home country, Palestine, has a long-standing conflict that makes life difficult, and I realize that life as a refugee here in Lebanon is not easy either. I began to believe in Jesus when I heard the gospel of Jesus here in the refugee camp, at a time when I was struggling with my life of picking up plastic and doing menial labor, and my skepticism towards Islam was deepening.

When I believed in Jesus, I began to study the Bible, and 10 brothers like me came forward, and I began to serve them with love, pray, and study the Bible with them every day. And through this gathering, I experienced the gospel being planted and my faith growing every week. Now we have a midweek Bible study and Sunday worship together.

Recently, I attended a baptismal service, and after watching a video of a testimony of a person who accepted Jesus, I received grace and decided to get baptized.

I want to live a life of true discipleship, believing in Jesus as my Savior and obeying only His Word. I also want to follow Jesus' command to plant a church in the middle of the city where I live! I want to see young people come to know and accept Jesus as the only true God in my city! Please join me in praying for the planting of a holy church!

Amen Praise God for granting us the power of the gospel of Christ.

You saved Brother Ahmad, who had come to Lebanon as a Palestinian refugee fleeing conflict, but had lost hope in the hard life that followed.

You caused the news of Jesus to reach the refugee camp, and when Brother Ahmad heard it, he received new hope!

Hallelujah, the power of the gospel to move from death to life is so beautiful!

God, this brother is now willing to go beyond the decision to be baptized and come to You with the calling of church planting.

Anoint this passion for the Kingdom of God so that many more may encounter the God that Brother Ahmad encountered.

May the 10 members who stand before You together rise up as spiritual leaders and unite!

Let the rumor of the life of Jesus Christ fill the earth.

May not only Ahmad, but all those who have been raised from the dead be bold witnesses who, like Paul, plant and nurture churches!

May Lebanon be filled with the light of the gospel!

May it rise up for the kingdom of God by the power of the gospel!
