[Field Story] Landslides due to heavy rain in Sichuan Province, southwestern China... 8 dead, 19 missing

A landslide occurred in Sichuan Province, southwestern China, where heavy rains recently fell, killing eight people and leaving 19 missing.

According to local media such as Sichuan Observatory on the 5th, the landslide occurred in Guzhan Town, Kangding City, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, around 3:30 a.m. the previous day.

As a result of this accident, a bridge on the nearby Ya'an-Kangding Expressway collapsed and the car crashed. Guzanjin's private houses were swept away by mud, causing casualties.

Sichuan Province is one of the areas hit hard by typhoons and heavy rains that have continued since late last month.

Chinese authorities allocated 500 million yuan (about 6.9 million US Dollars) in relief funds to Sichuan, Hunan, Henan, Shaanxi, and Fujian provinces that suffered flood damage.

Let the light of truth shine upon those regions through Your Word, as the people proclaim, so that the inhabitants may be raised up as those who look not to the broken cities of this earth, but to the heavenly city, waiting and longing for the eternal.

And let our Chinese souls arise to thy glory, singing joyfully before thee, who hast given us the city of heaven!

God, what this land needs is worship toward you. The enemy divides them and keeps them from looking to the Kingdom of God, which is what we should be looking to.
