[Field Story] Explosion at mosque in northern Afghanistan “15 dead, 50 injured”

Dozens have been killed in an explosion at a mosque in northern Afghanistan.

According to local TOLOnews, the accident occurred at a mosque where the funeral of acting governor of Badakhshan, Nisar Ahmad Ahmadi, who died in a car bombing two days ago, was being held.

Citing local hospital officials, TOLOnews said 15 people had died and 50 were injured.

It is reported that dozens of Taliban officials and locals attended the funeral that day.

The extremist terrorist organization Islamic State (IS) has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Badakhshan Province is located in the northeastern tip of Afghanistan, bordering Tajikistan, China and Pakistan.

Previously, in December of last year, a state police chief was killed in a car bombing while he was going to work, and IS claimed responsibility for this incident as well.

God, many souls have lost their lives because of IS, we hear that many people have lost their lives or been injured in Afghanistan due to the recent event.

Lord, would you have mercy on Afghanistan. Have mercy on those who have lost their freedom and lost their lives due to IS, and would you become a father to those who are like orphans.

We pray that all idolatrous spirits covering the land of Afghanistan will be cast away! Destroy the false idols, the violence, and chains of Satan with the blood of the cross of Jesus Christ, and let the freedom of eternal life come upon this land.

We believe that when the love of Jesus Christ comes upon Afghanistan, all sorrow and despair will be cast out, and the joy of salvation will cover the all hearts. When we cry out the name of Yeshua, would you pour out the grace of forgiveness of sins among all those who repent, and may the spirit of sexual immortality depart from this land!

We pray earnestly that the violence and terrorism of IS, the death and sorrow caused by them, will be cast out from this land at once! God, would you comfort all those who are living without hope and freedom, and let all people in Afghanistan live with the hope of the cross.

We praise the faithfulness of our Lord, and may the YGs of Afghanistan rise up to follow the Lord who is our hope. May they have the eternal hope for heaven in their heart, and may Afghanistan proclaim comfort and freedom to all those that are in sorrow and mourning through the love of Jesus Christ!
