[Field Story] Azerbaijan will receive the Holy Spirit and dwell on the Lord’s level ground

Hello, my name is Arif and I live in Azerbaijan.

I have lived as a Muslim for a long time, and I had many questions about my Islamic faith.

When I was struggling to find the truth in the Quran, a friend who was a Christian told me about Jesus.

Afterwards, I attended a worship service with that friend. Although it was my first time and it was awkward, I felt exceptional joy and comfort in my heart.

As I sang along and fellowshipped with the Christians there, I felt like I was enjoying true love and joy. Meanwhile, a crisis occurred in my life.

I helped a friend who was having financial difficulties by getting a loan for him, but after that, I lost contact with him.

For months, I felt very betrayed by my friend and it was very difficult for me. I even decided to gamble to repay the loan.

However, while praying at the worship meeting, I felt God's love in my heart. Jesus Christ, the Lamb who came to this earth for me, came to my heart.

Afterwards, I repented of all my sins and became a true Christian. Currently, I am studying the Word and getting to know Jesus more deeply. Please pray with me that my life will always be in Jesus.

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground! For your name's sake, O Lord, preserve my life! In your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble! And in your steadfast love you will cut off my enemies, and you will destroy all the adversaries of my soul, for I am your servant. (Psalm 143:10-12)

We praise the good Lord God who has made Brother Arif know the priceless love of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of the cross.

Lord, I confess that it was all God's grace that caused Arif to question Islam, that he came to know Jesus Christ and attended the worship meeting, and that he came to know the love of Jesus in the midst of a life wounded by the betrayal of a friend.

Neither Islam, which he had believed in for a long time, nor his close friends could provide Brother Arif hope. On the contrary it caused him to become discouraged, but we believe that the Lord made Brother Arif aware of the truth and led him to Jesus Christ for His name and through His righteousness.

Now, let the Holy Spirit of the Lord come upon Arif who wants to know the Lord more, and lead him on level ground through the Word.

As Brother Arif recognizes the sovereignty of the Lord, may the power of Islam, which had been the master among Brother Arif and Azerbaijan, be completely broken and let them be ruled only by the kindness of the Lord.

So, like Brother Arif, may an army arise in Azerbaijan with the fire of the Holy Spirit and bring about the final revival of God's work.
