[Today’s Prayer] ‘World’s 2nd largest’ shipping company avoids the Red Sea… Yemeni rebels attack

The threat to transportation safety is growing as Yemen's pro-Iran rebels Houthis continue to attack civilian vessels in the Red Sea, a major shipping route connecting Asia and Europe.

The aftermath of the war in Gaza is spreading to international trade and logistics, with global shipping companies temporarily suspending Red Sea operations.

The Associated Press, citing a U.S. Department of Defense official, reported on the 15th (local time) that a ballistic missile launched from Houthi-controlled Yemeni territory attacked a Liberian-flagged cargo ship in the Red Sea near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The official said the ship, a Palatium 3 owned by shipping company MSC, was attacked just hours after another Liberian-flagged cargo ship, the Alsassra, was attacked. A fire broke out in Palatium 3 after the attack, and no casualties have yet been confirmed. Ambray, a British security company, analyzed that “MSC’s parent company, headquartered in Switzerland, has been collaborating with Israel,” and added, “This may be the reason for the attack.”

“We attacked two ships with missiles,” Yahya Sari, a spokesman for Yemeni rebels Houthis, said in a statement. “We will continue to block navigation and All ships going to Israeli ports until we get the necessary food and medicine for our brothers in Gaza.,” he said.

On this day, Denmark's Maersk, the world's second-largest shipping company, said, "We have issued instructions to all ships scheduled to pass through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait to temporarily suspend operations until further notice," Reuters reported. “This is a measure taken in response to attacks on the ‘Maersk Gibraltar’ yesterday and another cargo ship today,” Maersk said, explaining that the ships will be sent on a detour route around Africa. At the same time, he said, “We are alert to recent attacks targeting commercial ships in this area,” and expressed concern that “it poses a serious threat to the safety and security of seafarers.” Maersk is the world's second largest shipping company in terms of ship capacity (total amount of cargo that can be loaded on a ship).

German container shipping company Hapag-Lloyd, whose ship was attacked that day, also announced that it was considering to temporarily suspend operations through the Red Sea.

The Houthis have continued to attack Israeli-owned ships and civilian ships heading to Israel in retaliation for Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip. Recently, they warned that they would indiscriminately attack ships unrelated to the war in the Red Sea. The previous day, a missile was fired at a Hong Kong-flagged cargo ship passing through the strait, but missed, and on the 13th, the U.S. Navy destroyer Mason shot down a drone launched by the Houthis at the request of a Marshall Islands-flagged oil tanker passing through the Red Sea. The Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the entrance to the Red Sea, is connected to the Suez Canal and is a major maritime transportation route, accounting for about 30% of the world's maritime container traffic and 12% of the merchandise trade volume.

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31,32)

The aftermath of the Gaza war is spreading to international trade and logistics, with global shipping companies temporarily suspending operations in the Red Sea as Yemen's pro-Iranian rebel Houthis continue to attack civilian ships in the Red Sea.

The Houthis have been continuing their attacks on Israeli-owned or civilian ships, heading to Israel in retaliation for Israel's attacks on Gaza

God, the aftermath of the Gaza war is spreading to many places. Please stop the evil and foolish acts of the Houthi rebels attacking civilian ships, even though they are stating that they are helping their brothers in Gaza.

Would you destroy Satan's plan to lead everyone

to destruction in a constant vicious cycle of hatred and retaliation.

Let the gospel that will fundamentally heal and give freedom, spread to Yemen, Israel, Palestine, and all Muslims who have long been the slaves of falsehood.

Let those who listen to the gospel of truth, which they have never heard before, become true disciples and become completely free within the truth, so that countless of people will rise up.

Those who have become last ones, who were first, make history of spreading Jesus most diligently, who freed them from sin, towards Jerusalem.
