(Today’s Prayer) With the year-end deadline looming, Hezbollah disarmament remains elusive, and Lebanon remains tense.

Lebanon's pro-Iran armed group Hezbollah is showing no signs of laying down its weapons even as the deadline set by the United States approaches.

Some fear that if Hezbollah misses the deadline, Israel could use it as an excuse to resume intensive military operations in Lebanon.

Last August, the Donald Trump administration set a timetable for the complete disarmament of Hezbollah by December 31st. At the time, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam also declared that "the use of weapons will be limited to government forces by the end of this year."

However, with just over 20 days remaining until the deadline set by the United States, the situation remained largely unchanged on the 9th (local time). The Lebanese government's efforts were met with strong opposition from Hezbollah.

Israel is using this situation as an excuse to maintain five outposts in southern Lebanon and increase the frequency of its airstrikes.

The Israeli military also issued a statement early that morning, claiming that it had struck a training facility for Hezbollah's elite Radwan unit, saying, "It was a facility where terrorist activities targeting Israeli civilians were being planned."

Notably, Israel carried out a targeted airstrike on the Lebanese capital Beirut last month, killing Hezbollah's second-in-command, Haitham Ali Tabatabai. This was the first Israeli airstrike on Beirut in five months, since June.

The Lebanese government, feeling pressured by Israel's military actions, is unable to force disarmament for fear of provoking Hezbollah and escalating the domestic conflict.

“Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen ( Revelation 1:7)

Lord, we see that Hezbollah, the pro-Iranian armed faction in Lebanon, remains unarmed despite the deadline set by the United States drawing near.

In this situation, Israel is maintaining five forward bases in southern Lebanon to contain Hezbollah and increasing the frequency of airstrikes.

Lebanon lives in fear of what might happen due to clashes between Hezbollah and Israel, and even the Lebanese government is powerless to act.

God, in this time when nation rises against nation, care for Lebanon, which does not know what to do. Make it a nation that prays, relying on Jesus.

May the Lord hear and answer us as we bring their unending fear and suffering before Him in prayer on their behalf.

May Hezbollah be brought down, and may they fear the name of Jesus and cease all wickedness.

May the Lebanese Church be awakened to pray, awaiting the day when they will see Jesus coming again on the clouds with their own eyes.

Though sin and darkness seem to prevail, we will ultimately see Jesus returning to judge and rule over all the tribes of the earth.

May the Lebanese church arise to proclaim the gospel throughout Lebanon and declare the coming of Jesus Christ! May the news of death cease in Lebanon and the news of life overflow!

May the Lebanese church arise to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom to all nations!
