[Today's Prayer] Will a Final Deal Be Reached? U.S. and Iran Begin Nuclear Negotiations in Geneva

The third round of negotiations between the United States and Iran to discuss the Iranian nuclear issue began on the morning of the 26th (local time) at the official residence of the Omani Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

According to foreign and local media, this round of talks—much like the previous two—was attended by Jared Kushner, son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump, and Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff on the U.S. side, while Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi represented Iran.

The negotiations are being conducted indirectly, with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi shuttling between the two parties to deliver proposals, mirroring the format of the first and second rounds.

Regarding the nuclear talks, President Trump told reporters on the 19th, "The time given to them (Iran) for an agreement will be at most 10 to 15 days. I think that is enough time," effectively issuing an ultimatum. This is why today's negotiations are regarded as the final opportunity before a potential U.S. attack on Iran.

In his State of the Union address on the 24th, President Trump pressured Iran further, stating, "They say they want a deal, but I haven't heard those 'secret words' yet. Those words are: 'We will never have nuclear weapons.'"

Consequently, some predict that Iran may present a radical compromise.

While there are reports that Iran has offered to dilute its estimated 400kg of 60% enriched uranium and limit enrichment activities to around 5%, the U.S. is demanding complete dismantlement.

Furthermore, the U.S. insists on discussing limits on Iran's ballistic missile program and the cessation of support for pro-Iranian militant groups in the Middle East. Iran maintains the position that negotiations should be limited strictly to the nuclear program.

And again he said, "To what shall I compare the kingdom of God? It is like leaven that a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened." (Luke 13:20-21)

Lord, the third round of nuclear negotiations between the U.S. and Iran has begun, and the U.S. is pressuring Iran to bring a proposal that includes the complete abandonment of its nuclear program. Father, please have mercy on Iran, a land that knows no rest.

With Iran's decision expected in the next 10 to 15 days, we pray that their nuclear proposals will be settled in a way that prevents further escalation into a larger war. Grant the leaders of Iran the wisdom to discern whether their choices are for the sake of the nation and its people or merely stubbornness to maintain power. May they make choices that truly save the Iranian people.

Especially at this time, we believe that as the local churches in Iran awaken to the Gospel, witness, and pray, You will hear and act. Through the intercession of the Iranian church, let Your kingdom come upon Iran.

As the global church stands in solidarity to serve and pray for Iran, may every scheme of the enemy covering that land be broken, and may Your holy sovereignty be established.

Through this, may Iran rise as a nation that proclaims the Kingdom of God to all peoples!

May they be renewed as a priestly nation that serves and brings all nations back to You!
