[Today’s Prayer] Trump: “U.S. troops will leave within 2–3 weeks… Hormuz is not our business” (comprehensive)

U.S. President Donald Trump said on the 31st (local time) that the end of the war with Iran would come “very soon,” mentioning “within 2–3 weeks.” At the same time, he indicated that the war could be ended even without reaching a ceasefire agreement with Iran and even if navigation through the Strait of Hormuz—currently blocked by Iran—has not returned to normal, expressing the idea of a “unilateral declaration of victory and withdrawal.”

At a signing ceremony for executive orders held at the White House that day, when reporters asked about measures to lower rapidly rising gasoline prices in the U.S., President Trump said, “All I have to do is leave Iran. We will leave very soon,” adding, “Then oil prices will plummet.” Since the U.S. has not yet deployed ground troops to Iran, Trump’s statement about “leaving Iran” is interpreted to mean halting attacks on Iran and ending the war. On that day, the average U.S. gasoline price exceeded $4 per gallon (1 gallon is about 3.78 liters), the highest level since August 2022 when the energy market was shaken by the war in Ukraine.

In particular, President Trump said, “They (Iran) do not need to make a deal with me,” and added, “If we think they (Iran) have been pushed back to the Stone Age for a long period and are unable to possess nuclear weapons, we will leave.”Ultimately, this is interpreted to mean that once the war objectives set by the U.S. are judged to have been achieved, the war will be ended regardless of whether a ceasefire agreement with Iran is reached or whether the Strait of Hormuz is reopened.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God (Colossians 3:16)

We hear news that U.S. President Donald Trump has mentioned that the war with Iran could end within 2–3 weeks and has announced that he will deliver a national address regarding Iran.

Due to Iran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, international oil prices have surged sharply. As there are indications that the U.S. may end its military operations against Iran regardless of a ceasefire agreement if Iran is pushed back to a “Stone Age” level, O God, sovereign over all things, rule over the world and lead it according to Your will.

In January, amid severe economic hardship, the people of Iran held anti-government protests. Now, due to continued bombardment from the ongoing war and increasingly unpredictable inflation, they are facing great difficulties in their lives. Merciful God, look upon Iran so that all death and sorrow may disappear and be filled with the hope of truth.

In the midst of an unpredictable war, may the Iranian church, which has been led to faith in the Lord, be filled richly with the word of Christ, so that in difficult times it may proclaim the gospel with all wisdom, offer songs of thanksgiving, and become a church that praises God.

For this, may the global church, even in situations where there seems to be no hope, stand firm with the Iranian church in faith, looking toward the hope of heaven, and boldly proclaim the gospel to all nations in these last days filled with hardship.

And so, through the Iranian people rising by the power of the gospel that overcomes death, may the final army that will destroy Babylon advance toward all nations!
