In the midst of ongoing war, conflict, and political instability in the Middle East, the work of sharing the hope of the gospel continues steadily.
The Arabic ministry director of the Christian broadcasting network Trans World Radio (TWR) recently said in an interview with Evangelical Focus, “The hope of the world was born in the Middle East,” emphasizing that “the gospel of Jesus Christ is the most essential hope even in today’s turmoil.”
He said, “Jesus Christ was born, died, and rose again in the Middle East. The message of hope we proclaim began in this very land.”

The Middle East has long been a region marked by repeated crises and conflicts. He said, “There has hardly been a time without crisis here. To live in this region means always being prepared for difficulties.”
Nevertheless, TWR has continued for over 70 years to share the gospel in the Middle East through broadcasting and media. He explained, “The ministry of TWR is like a light bulb, not fireworks. Fireworks are brilliant for a moment but quickly disappear. A light bulb, however, shines quietly, steadily, and for a long time. That is what our ministry is like—not flashy, but continually giving light and hope.”
He also shared the story of a listener he encountered in ministry: “One listener asked for prayer for his father who was battling cancer. In the end, the father passed away, but just before his death, he accepted Jesus Christ.”
He continued, “That event impacted the entire family, becoming an opportunity for several family members to embrace the Christian faith. God’s answers are sometimes different from what we expect, but they bring deeper and eternal healing.”
He also expressed hope for the future of the Middle East, saying, “God has placed us here for such a time as this. With the tools and vision given to us, we want to share the gospel with those who are searching for hope.”
He added, “The best moment has not yet come. We are not just trying to survive, but we want to seize every opportunity to share the gospel with those who need hope more than ever.”

“But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.” (2 Timothy 4:5)
Heavenly Father, we hear the testimony of a Christian broadcasting leader who proclaims that the gospel of Jesus Christ is hope even in the deeply unstable situation of the Middle East, where war continues without end.
Though the land of the Middle East has long experienced repeated crises and conflicts, we thank You that through the birth of Jesus in this land, You gave the message of hope, and that even now You leave the church here as the hope of this land, continuing to proclaim that message.
Please protect the local churches in the Middle East who, even in the midst of hardship, seek not merely to survive but to proclaim the gospel. Anoint them so that even as they suffer, they may carry out the work of an evangelist and fulfill their calling.
We know that there is a clear purpose for why You have placed them in this time. Through them, let the souls in the Middle East who are thirsty amid suffering come to see Jesus, and let the work of the gospel not stop but continue to advance.
Let the global church go beyond simply preserving their own faith and instead pray with deep compassion for the salvation of souls in the Middle East and for brothers and sisters who are keeping their faith there. Let them unite spiritually and labor together.
So that the gospel of the kingdom may be proclaimed more quickly among all nations, and that the day may come soon when all nations cry “Maranatha” and welcome the return of the Lord.
