Thailand and Cambodia, which had been engaged in large-scale fighting over a border dispute, agreed to a ceasefire on the 28th (local time). The ceasefire agreement took effect the following day, the 29th.

According to the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two countries announced that they had agreed to a ceasefire during their meeting the previous day. However, they said that there were no negotiations on border issues and that the leaders of the two countries agreed to continue negotiations separately to pursue a diplomatic solution to end the conflict.

The two countries engaged in large-scale fighting in areas such as the temple ruins of Tham An Thom and Preah Vihae in the border region since the morning of the 24th. The US and Chinese governments intervened, and the two countries held high-level talks in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and agreed to a ceasefire.

The clash, which even involved fighter jets, resulted in the deaths of 35 civilians and soldiers from both countries (22 from Thailand and 13 from Cambodia), more than 140 injuries, and the displacement of approximately 260,000 people.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump posted on his Truth Novel blog that day, "I just spoke with the Acting Prime Minister of Thailand (Poomtam Vechayachai) and the Prime Minister of Cambodia (Hun Manet)," emphasizing, "Congratulations to everyone. By ending this war, we have saved countless lives."

From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. (Acts 17:26-27)

Lord, we hear that Thailand and Cambodia, which had been engaged in large-scale battles over border disputes, have agreed to a ceasefire. Please meet with many people who have lost their lives, or displaced, and become impoverished by war, and comfort them.

Would you restore Thailand and Cambodia through the love of Jesus in their suffering. Restore both nations through the gospel.

When the Gospel is preached in Thailand and Cambodia, may they discover God, who is closest to them and bestows the grace of peace, so that Thailand and Cambodia may exalt and praise God alone.

May the churches in Thailand and Cambodia spread the love of Jesus Christ and bring life to the hearts of those devastated by war. Through their service and prayers, may Thailand and Cambodia come to know the Lord.

May Thailand and Cambodia now declare restoration and victory in the name of Jesus! May Thailand and Cambodia rise up to joyfully proclaim Jesus, the King who will reign victorious among all nations and return again!
