[Today’s Prayer] “Pro-Palestine” South Africa keeps Palestinians on a plane for 12 hours saying they had no travel documents

At a South African airport, it became known that more than 150 Palestinians, including a woman in late-term pregnancy, were trapped inside an airplane for 12 hours due to travel document issues, and on the 14th criticism poured out toward the South African authorities.

A pastor who was allowed to enter the plane and meet the passengers said that it was extremely hot inside the airplane and that the children were screaming and crying.

South Africa’s border control authorities said in a statement that the Palestinians on the charter flight landed at Johannesburg’s Tambo International Airport on the morning of the 13th after a stopover in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.

The passengers did not have exit stamps from Israeli authorities, did not state how long they would stay in South Africa, and did not have an address for where they would stay locally, which caused the immigration authorities to deny their entry.

The founder of the organization that assisted the passengers (Gift of the Givers) said that this was the second such charter flight in which Palestinians were flown to South Africa in the past two weeks without the passengers themselves knowing where they were going.

Imtiaz Sooliman added that both planes appeared to be carrying Palestinians from the Gaza Strip fleeing the Gaza war.

South Africa has long supported the Palestinian people and their cause, taking Israel to the International Court of Justice over the Gaza war and strongly condemning Israel at the UN.

Because of that, once the news spread that the flight had been denied entry and the passengers were isolated and confined inside the airplane, anger toward the authorities erupted.

[Hebrews 10:20] This way is the new and living way He opened for us through the curtain, and the curtain is His flesh.

God, we hear the news that more than 150 Palestinians were isolated and confined inside an airplane for 12 hours at a South African airport because of travel document issues.

It is said that their entry was refused because they did not have Israeli exit stamps and did not state how long they would stay in South Africa or where they would reside locally.

Lord, You know the frustration and fear of the Palestinians from Gaza who fled the Gaza war with hope but ended up trapped on a plane, not even knowing where they were supposed to go.

The wounds they received in the midst of the war have not even healed, yet they were rejected at the border in South Africa, and pregnant women and children were left in an extremely hot airplane.

We believe that only You, Lord, can understand and comfort this deep sorrow.

The nations and worldly hopes they thought would protect them collapse and betray so easily, but God, You gave even Your own Son to save us, and You opened a new and living way for us to come to You.

Please let Palestinian souls seek not the hopes of the world that they think will save their suffering people, but the hope that Jesus gives.

Even if it seems like no one in the world welcomes them, let the Palestinian people become those who believe that our Jesus tore His own flesh and opened the way to life on the cross, and let them dwell in the love of God.

Make them a people who love and depend only on the Lord, giving everything for Him, and let them become Palestinians who pray for and bring life to people who are suffering as they once did.

Let the global church pray for this, and let the Palestinians, who are in pain and suffering, be served and embraced so that they may come to Jesus Christ, the new and living way, and be restored.

Palestine, believe in the love of Jesus’ cross, and run toward the new and living way He opened through the curtain!

In these last days, rise as a holy bride and worshiper who gives everything only to Jesus and places all hope in Him!
