[Today's Prayer] Over 2,000 Aftershocks in Four Days Following a 7.0-Magnitude Earthquake in Tibet, China… Largest Aftershock Measures 5.7

More than 2,000 aftershocks have been recorded following the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck China's western Xizang (Tibet) Autonomous Region on the 22nd, China's Earthquake Networks Center reported on the 26th.

According to the report, a total of 2,054 aftershocks had been recorded as of 8 a.m. on the 26th, following the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck Baqing County in Nagqu City, Xizang Autonomous Region, on the night of the 22nd.

The largest aftershock during this period measured 5.7. Of the recorded aftershocks, 1,993 measured below magnitude 3.0, while 61 measured magnitude 3.0 or higher.

The magnitude 5.7 aftershock was recorded at 7:25 p.m. on the 25th, approximately 19 kilometers from the epicenter of the main earthquake.

We hear of the situation in Tibet, where approximately 2,000 aftershocks have continued over the four days since the magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck on the 22nd, leaving 16 people dead and around 70 injured.

Lord, please personally visit the people of Tibet who are trembling with fear because of the earthquake and its continuing aftershocks, even before the damage caused by the previous devastating floods has been fully addressed. Have mercy on the Tibetan people, who find themselves in circumstances they cannot overcome by their own strength.

Please comfort those who have lost their homes and the heartbreaking grief of those who have lost their families, and protect the lives of the Tibetan people. May they seek and call upon the God who is able to resolve every problem, and experience Your grace and help.

Pour out Your heart upon the Chinese Church so that it will not turn away from the Tibetan people but instead reach out to them with the heart of Jesus Christ. May the Chinese Church intercede earnestly before You on behalf of the Tibetan people and lead them to You.

May the global Church also become aware of this situation and send relief teams, medical personnel, and other relief workers. May they provide the necessary assistance to save lives, and through this, may the Tibetan people come to know Your love.

Through these circumstances, may the Tibetan people turn their steps toward You even amid their suffering! O Tibetan people, do not delay in obeying the Lord's commandments, but go forth with the Gospel to all nations!
