[Today's Prayer] Myanmar Earthquake Death Toll Surges to 1,002... 2,376 Injured, 30 Missing

The death toll from the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar has surpassed 1,000.

According to Reuters and AFP, the Myanmar military government stated on the 29th that the death toll has risen to 1,002, the injured to 2,376, and approximately 30 people are missing.

Commander-in-Chief Min Aung Hlaing, the head of the military government, ordered swift rescue efforts in the earthquake-stricken areas and unusually requested international aid. Currently, a state of emergency has been declared in six earthquake-affected regions of Myanmar.

However, Myanmar's communication and infrastructure are poor. As a result, it is taking time to accurately assess the actual extent of the earthquake damage, and the death toll is likely to continue to rise.

God, sovereign over all life, grant Your merciful grace to those who are injured and missing in their suffering, so that their bodies and minds may be restored, and guide them safely back to their families.

Lord, may communication and transportation in Myanmar become smooth so that the search for the missing and relief efforts can proceed without hindrance. May aid quickly reach those waiting for help.

God, we especially pray that the gospel will be delivered even more rapidly than relief and any other aid to the people of Myanmar suffering from the earthquake. May the Myanmar churches and ASEAN churches go to those who are dying, so that they may encounter Your love and find peace in the midst of all fear through Your gospel.

May the ASEAN churches and the global church, upon hearing the news of the earthquake, pray more fervently for Myanmar. Beyond worrying about the earthquake damage, may the unshakable holy churches of God be established in every place devastated by the earthquake, and may holy Myanmar youths, who turn to the Lord in any situation during the end times, come to You!
