[Today’s Prayer] Million Muslims accept Christ, Mosques Closes
As the possibility of war looms in the Middle East, there are reports of a revival in Iran. CBN News reports that unusually large numbers of Muslims are turning to Christ, and in Iran in particular, conversions are on the rise in search of a better life.
Iranians are growing tired of a country that is being led around by the empty promises of the Shiite ayatollah and the Islamic theocracy. According to an anonymous internal survey, 80 percent of Iranians now prefer a democratic government, and many are turning away from Islam.
“Iran has one of the highest rates of drug addiction in the world. It’s a country where corruption is rampant and more than half the population lives below the poverty line,” said Todd Nettleton of Voice of the Martyrs. “The Iranian people are looking at this and saying, ‘If this is what Islam has given us for the past 45 years, we’re not interested anymore. We want to know what else is out there.’”
According to Nettleton, the religious alternative of choice for many is Jesus Christ, and at least a million Muslims are reported to have converted from Islam to Christianity.
Asked how the Iranian regime is responding to the fact that 50,000 of the country’s 75,000 mosques are reportedly closed, Nettleton said, “The regime is not happy about it, and in many ways they are trying to consolidate their power and suppress any form of dissent. We have heard several stories this year of Bible study groups and house churches being raided. Everyone there is photographed and interrogated. The leaders of the groups are arrested, detained and thrown in jail.”
This is a complete change from 10, 15, 20 years ago,” he explained. CBN added that this is a movement of change brought about by the Holy Spirit of God that could ultimately change not just Iran but the entire Middle East.

“for the power of the wicked will be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous. The blameless spend their days under the Lord’s care, and their inheritance will endure forever. in times of disaster they will not wither; in days of famine they will enjoy plenty. But the wicked will perish: Though the Lord’s enemies are like the flowers of the field, they will be consumed, they will go up in smoke.” (Psalm 37-17-20)
Amen, praise the Lord who breaks the arms of the wicked who have held Iran for so long, and raises up the people of God to hold them. Praise be to the Lord who destroys the wicked, who removes the enemies of the Lord and gives them victory.
Lord, your history is being made in this land as countless souls are being converted as they feel distrust and skepticism from Islam and turning to Jesus as the one true God.
With 50,000 out of 75,000 mosques closed and the possibility of war in the Middle East looming, God is bringing revival to the land.
This is a time of grace and a day of salvation for Iran! Let the work of salvation that God has ordained take place with fire!
Let the addictions, lies, corruption, and doctrines of Islam that have bound this land be completely broken, and the veils that have covered the eyes and ears of souls be removed so that they may see Jesus Christ the Savior!
May the Christians of Iran love You fervently each day and move forward in the fulfillment of Your covenant word!
Even if they go to prison, even if death is before them, God will not put them to shame. Even in the day of famine, He will give them abundant grace! Let the fearless love of God overcome, and let them go forward in faith!
Through the many churches in Iran, let there be a revival that will reach other peoples and nations beyond measure!
