[Today’s Prayer] Magnitude 7.1 earthquake in Xinjiang, China, 6 injured, 125 households damaged

Local media, including China Central Television, reported that a magnitude 7.1 earthquake occurred in China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region on the 23rd, injuring six people with no deaths reported.

Six residents were injured 26km away from the epicenter due to the earthquake that day.

Among them, two suffered serious injuries and four suffered minor injuries.

A total of 125 households were damaged, with 47 houses collapsed and 78 houses damaged.

Local media reported that the average elevation of the area within a 20km radius of the epicenter was 3,048m, making it a mountainous area with a very small population.

After the earthquake occurred, the authorities issued the second stage of earthquake emergency response and began assessing the casualty situation and rescue operations.
