[Today’s Prayer] Laws are also made by AI… UAE declares world's first 'AI legislation'

The United Arab Emirates ( UAE ) has announced a plan to fully utilize artificial intelligence ( AI ) in the process of creating new laws and revising existing laws. This is considered an unprecedented and bold attempt worldwide, as the UAE is introducingAI technology, in which it has invested billions of dollars, into its government system.

According to the Financial Times ( FT ) on the 20th (local time), the UAE has approved the establishment of a new government organization, the Regulatory Intelligence Office, to oversee the 'Legislative AI' project.

The UAE government is considering analyzing the social and economic impact of AI on laws based on massive data such as federal and local laws, court decisions, and public service data, and regularly suggesting amendments.

Through this, it is expected to have the effect of significantly shortening the legislative speed and reducing the cost of external legal consultation. According to data released at the cabinet meeting, the legislative speed is expected to be up to 70% faster than before.

The UAE has invested heavily in the AI field in preparation for the post-oil era. The UAE created an AI -specialized sovereign wealth fund, MGX , and participated in the BlackRock AI Infrastructure Fund with a scale of 30 billion dollars. MGX even placed an AI observer on its board of directors.

The UAE 's attempt is evaluated as being at a completely different level from the existing governments' use of AI. While other countries are focusing on improving administrative efficiency by utilizing AI to summarize legislative bills or improve public services, the UAE is trying to raise it to the level where AI directly proposes draft legislation and suggests directions for legal revisions.

On the other hand, there are also voices of concern about various problems such as reliability. This is because AI can make biased judgments based on training data and may not be able to interpret the law in the same way as humans. Vincent Straub, an AI researcher at Oxford University, pointed out that “current AIstill shows 'hallucination' phenomena and has many problems in terms of reliability and robustness."

These experimental attempts are evaluated as possible because the UAE is pouring national capabilities into the AI industry.

It has not yet been revealed exactly what AI system the UAE government will use. Experts emphasized that it should combine multiple AI models, not just one system, and that it must be accompanied by strong safety measures and thorough human supervision.

But for their sake I will remember the covenant with their ancestors whom I brought out of Egypt in the sight of the nations to be their God. I am the Lord.’” (Leviticus 26:45)

God, the Creator of all things and human, we are in the end times, and we see with our own eyes that the world is becoming increasingly evil.

The horrific reality that the government of the United Arab Emirates is now trying to leave even the laws that humans have thought about and created to protect human rights and dignity to AI makes me feel that I need to be more vigilant before You.

We confess once again that the only one who can bring true peace and salvation to mankind is our one and only God, not an A.I. that is nothing more than a mere human creature, nor any other vain idol.

May the global church be ever more spiritually awake and strive for the kingdom of God, opposing to the end all the evil things of the world that seek to take God's place and exalt themselves above God.

God, you who brought your people out of the land of Egypt, remembered the covenant with the fathers to be their God, and held them in compassion to the end.

The God who loved us even unto death, and gave his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to bear our iniquities, and to die for us on the cross.

Now let the United Arab Emirates and all the nations know the irreplaceable and inimitable love of our Lord. Let us lay aside our vain idols and falsehoods and return in repentance to the God who loves us so much!

Rather, let this be a time when every soul in the United Arab Emirates will realize that nothing can take the place of God and return to Him!

And may the day quickly come when Thy holy people, clothed in white robes, in a great multitude that no one can number, will rise up in multitudes from among all the nations, praising and singing that salvation belongs to our God and the Lamb who sits on the throne!
