[Today’s Prayer] Korea Open Doors Missionary Society Launches 'Secret Believer Campaign'

Campaign to support secret believers who do not abandon their faith despite being exposed to all kinds of persecution

“I can continue on this path, finding comfort and joy in being with Christ,” said Hilla (pseudonym), an Afghan mother of two. “I am in a difficult situation, but I still believe in Christ,” she confessed her faith. Her husband was killed while going out to get Christian study materials. A campaign is underway to support ‘secret believers’, who are being exposed to persecution because of their faith.

The case of the secret believers of Dengbi, as well as other secret believer’s stories, was introduced through Open Door website. What they have in common is that they feel that they are not alone through the hands of Christian brothers and sisters spread around the world despite various difficulties and persecutions.

Sarah was studying the Bible secretly when her husband found out and exposed her to serious violence. He did not stop at just forgiving her, but took her children and disappeared, leaving only divorce papers behind for Sarah. Sarah said, “Even in this worst nightmare, I was able to find comfort and strength thanks to the prayers and financial support of Open Doors partners. Now, as if by a miracle, I am able to be with my children again, and I have learned that Jesus, in whom I believe and trust, is always with me and will never leave me.”

Open Doors asked for the continued interest and prayers of Korean church members, “So that our brothers and sisters in the most dangerous places can know that they are not alone and can find the strength to follow Jesus.”

The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, “Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.” (Acts 23:11)

God, we thank you that so many people of faith have been exposed to persecution of all kinds, yet have not abandoned their faith. Help them to rise up in faith that overcomes the world and to witness to Yeshua with greater boldness.

Allow the global world to always pray for and help those who are persecuted, as if they were receiving suffering and persecution themselves.

As the day of our Lord's return draws near, allow us to be one with Yeshua, so that the church can become one body that moves forward boldly with the gospel, and that we may experience a final revival which we have never known before.

Praise be to our God, who will make sure that there is not one soul in every nation and among all peoples that has not heard the gospel, and who will fill those who preach the gospel with the power of the Holy Spirit with joy and boldness in any situation!
