[Today's Prayer] Israel "Last week, 40 Hamas members trapped in Gaza tunnels were killed"

The Israeli military announced that it conducted an operation targeting tunnels in the southern Gaza Strip and killed more than 40 members of the Palestinian armed group Hamas last week.

According to AFP, on the 30th (local time), the Israeli military announced on social media platform 'X' that it had focused its efforts east of Rafah over the past 40 days to dismantle remaining tunnels in the area and eliminate hiding terrorists.

It added, "More than 40 terrorists have been eliminated," and "dozens of tunnel passages and terrorist infrastructure facilities both above and underground have been dismantled in this area."

The video released by the Israeli military on the same day showed several individuals believed to be Hamas members moving quickly and hiding inside building rubble.

According to the ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10, the Israeli military withdrew behind the first withdrawal line in the Gaza Strip, marked by yellow concrete blocks called the 'Yellow Line,' but many Hamas fighters have been trapped for weeks in underground tunnel networks within Israeli-controlled areas. Israel has killed or arrested dozens attempting to escape.

(Excerpt)

AFP reported on the 27th of last month, citing multiple sources, that negotiations are ongoing regarding the fighters remaining in the underground tunnels. Hamas estimates the number of isolated fighters to be between 60 and 80.

"But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin." (1 John 1:7)

Heavenly Father, we hear that although the Israeli military withdrew behind the 'Yellow Line' in the Gaza Strip according to the ceasefire agreement enacted last October, many Hamas fighters remain trapped in underground tunnel networks within Israeli-controlled areas, and more than 40 Hamas members attempting to escape have been killed or arrested.

Even after the ceasefire agreement, as Hamas members have not yet returned home, please guide so that the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian people does not escalate, and through the gospel, may Israel and Hamas find peace in Jesus rather than resorting to arms.

Through the time trapped in the underground tunnels, may the Hamas members repent of their misunderstandings of God like Jonah, meet Jesus through dreams and visions, and receive the grace that cleanses all their sins. Lead Hamas members to walk in the light following Jesus who is in the light, and may they be reborn through the love and fellowship of the local church to rise as special forces of the gospel.

May the Israel-Palestine church awaken in prayer, strive to serve the nations and peoples, and work hard to nurture the next generation of leaders with biblical values so that Israel and Palestine may be under God's rule.

Thus, may Israel and Palestine unite in Christ, become one community through God's mercy and love, and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, the light of the world, to the ends of the earth!
