A combat engineer battalion commander on a mission to find and destroy Hamas infrastructure told TOI that most of the Hamas tunnels and rocket bases they found were deep in civilian settlements.

He claimed, "(During the operation) we encounter numerous weapons and tunnels. We found them in playgrounds, kindergartens and inside mosques. Tomorrow morning, someone will say, 'Why did they attack the mosque?' and this is the reason."

Meanwhile, according to foreign media reports such as the Guardian and the New York Times (NYT) on the 10th, Al-Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip announced that about 50 people were killed by missiles and shelling targeting a nearby school this morning.
