[Today's Prayer] Iran shuts down offices of commerce companies for 'employees not wearing hijabs'

Iranian authorities, which have tightened restrictions on women's attire again, have shut down the offices of the country's largest online commerce company because of a woman not wearing a hijab in a group photo.

On the 24th (local time), authorities shut down one of the offices of Digikala, the operator of the country's largest online commerce site, according to Iranian reformist newspaper Sharq.

However, Digikala’s website is operating normally.

The action came shortly after a group photo of employees, including a woman without a hijab, was posted on the Digikala’s website.

The website of the Iranian Ministry of Justice mentions that complaints and questions regarding the photo are piling up.

In Iran, anti-government protests continued across the country in September of last year after Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman, died mysteriously after being arrested at a police station for not wearing a hijab.

Authorities hinted at the possibility of abolishing the ‘guidance patrol' (Gasht-e- Ershad), which cracks down on women's attire in accordance with Islamic law, in December of last year as the backlash intensified despite strong responses such as torturing protesters or punishing them with the death penalty.

However, the authorities did not abolish the guidance patrol until the end, and recently officially announced the resumption of its activities.

At the time, spokesman Saeed Montager Al-Mahdi said, "We will crack down on women not wearing a hijab in public places, and we will arrest those who disobey guidance."

So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church. (Acts 12:5)

In December of last year, despite citizens' hijab protests, the Iranian government did not abolish the ‘guidance patrol' that enforced women's clothing according to Islamic law, and further strengthened women's clothing control. And we hear that the offices of the largest local online retailer have recently been shut down because of a woman not wearing a hijab in a group photo.

God who hears our prayers, the Iranian government is trying hard to imprison them in the prison of Islamic law. We know that the thirst of the Iranian people is not satisfied and they are thirsty for the Gospel and the Word.

Just as the church earnestly prayed to God for Peter who was imprisoned and released Peter, please allow the Iranian people to be freed from the Islamic law only through the power of prayer and praise the name of the living God.

Lord, anoint all the churches in Iran with the Holy Spirit so that when they pray earnestly, the gates of heaven will be opened and the imprisoned souls will be set free and come to the Lord. May the Church of Iran endure all the hardships and persecution of the government with the spirituality of martyrdom and be victorious!

Hear the cry of prayer from the Church of Iran, and now, in the last days, let all nations rise up as a nation that testifies to Jesus Christ, our King!
