An analysis has found that Africa is expected to emerge as a key continent driving future global population growth and changes in economic, religious, and social structures.
(Excerpt)
According to the report, Africa's population grew from approximately 227 million in 1950 to about 1.5 billion in 2025. This represents more than a sixfold increase in just 75 years. The United Nations projects that Africa's population will reach approximately 3.8 billion by 2100, accounting for around 35% of the world's population. Considering that about 18% of the global population currently lives in Africa, this represents explosive growth.
Particularly noteworthy is the analysis that the center of the world's youth population is shifting toward Africa. Currently, about 28% of the world's population under the age of 25 resides in Africa, and by 2100 that figure is expected to rise to approximately 46%. In other words, one out of every two young people in the future world could be African.

Pew Research analyzed that these changes will impact not only population growth but also the global economy, labor markets, education, migration, religion, and political systems. The United Nations especially forecasts that a significant portion of global workforce growth after 2050 will come from Africa, and that the growth of both Christian and Muslim populations will expand rapidly, centered in Africa.
The report stated, “Africa, which has the youngest population structure in the world, is highly likely to become a key engine of global growth in the future,” and added, “Demographic change will be one of the most important turning points facing the international community in the years ahead.”

"But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life." (Jude 1:20–21)
God, we hear the news that approximately 28% of the world's population under the age of 25 currently lives in Africa, and that by 2100 this proportion is expected to rise to about 46%, positioning Africa as a key continent that will drive global population growth and changes in economic, religious, and social structures.
At a time when both Christian and Muslim populations are expected to grow rapidly in Africa, raise up countless faithful young men and women who love You throughout Africa, so that the Christian population may increase explosively beyond that of Islam.
Lord, even now You are revealing Your vision to young people across Africa and using them as workers who bring life to all nations. Help them to build themselves upon their most holy faith, and empower them to devote their lives to the mission of spreading the Gospel so that many young people throughout Africa may return to You.
May Africa's youth become a powerful influence for Christ in the future global society, and may Africa become a key continent preparing the way for the Lord's return in the last days.
Move the global Church to pray together for Africa's youth, and raise up countless young Africans who embrace Your vision and are sent out among the nations.
African youth, arise! Let 100,000 Maghreb missionaries and 2 million African missionaries arise!
