[Today's Prayer] Iran's anti-government protests flare up again amidst bloodshed and funerals

The anti-government protests in Iran have resurged, with relatives of the deceased chanting slogans like "Death to Khamenei!" at funerals and memorial services, according to reports.

Medical students at Shiraz University have been on a hunger strike to demand the release of doctors arrested for treating protesters, while human rights groups have reported the detention of medical personnel who treated injured protesters.

Mohammad Raezadeh, the head of Iran's Medical Council, said in an interview with the semi-official ISNA news agency that 17 medical staff have been detained since the crackdown on protests on August 8.

Hadi Ghaemi, the secretary-general of the Iran Human Rights Center, said, "The Islamic Republic, which has killed thousands of civilians, is now going door-to-door to punish those who participated in the protests and extinguish the sparks of potential resistance."

The possibility of another uprising starting on February 17 and 18, when funerals and memorial services for the deceased protesters are held, has also been raised.

Jesus said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them. But it shall not be so among you. Whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the servant of all. For the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many" (Mark 10:42-45).

It is reported that the anti-government protests in Iran, which seemed to be subsiding due to the authorities' ruthless crackdown, have resurged with the angry cries of relatives and mourners at funerals and memorial services.

Moreover, people from all walks of life, including medical students, high school students, teachers' unions, former prime ministers under house arrest, and famous actresses, as well as Grand Bazaar merchants, are joining the anti-government protests and taking to the streets.

We pray that the Lord will protect the souls of Iranians from the authorities and be with them in this time.

As the Iranian authorities believe that their power will last forever and continue to arrest and detain Iranians and take their lives, we pray that the power of heaven will rule over the Iranian leaders and lead them to repentance, so that the shedding of innocent blood in Iran can stop.

We also pray that the Church in Iran will demonstrate the leadership of Christ as servants by serving the souls of Iranians, and help those who have taken to the streets to protest in Iran with their faith in Jesus Christ.

We also pray that the global church will share the situation in Iran and pray for it, raising their voices against the ruthlessness of Iran and extending a helping hand to the souls of Iranians.

May true freedom be proclaimed in Iran through Jesus Christ, and may the Iranian people, who have been committed to their nation and foreigners until their death, become a people of freedom.!
