India and Pakistan had been escalating tensions since the killing of 26 people in a shooting by unidentified militants in Pahalgam, a tourist destination in Indian-administered Kashmir, on the 22nd of last month.

India, considering it an attack by a Pakistan-linked terrorist group, launched missile strikes on nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistani-administered areas of Kashmir in the early morning of the 6th.

Pakistan, vowing retaliation, launched 'Operation Bunyan-e-Marsous' (meaning 'Unbreakable Wall') on the 10th.

Where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. (James 3:16-18)

Following the killing of 26 people in a shooting by unidentified militants in a tourist destination in Indian-administered Kashmir on the 22nd of last month, which had raised fears of a full-scale war between India and Pakistan, we hear the welcome news that the United States, China, the G7 nations, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey intervened for a ceasefire, leading to an agreement between both India and Pakistan.

With the help of various countries around the world, citizens in major cities of India and Pakistan have expressed joy at the news of the ceasefire. Until negotiations resume on the 12th at 12 PM local time, we pray that the Lord will grant prosperity and smooth progress in all matters.

Lord, You who have delivered India and Pakistan from the chaos and evil that arose from jealousy and strife, we believe that You have heard and answered the prayers of the churches in India and Pakistan to forgive each other and pray together above all else. Through the local churches in India and Pakistan that serve with the wisdom You have given, may they bear good fruit and be faithful churches that strive to fulfill Your mission until they reap a harvest of righteousness sown in peace.

May this peace extend beyond India and Pakistan to become a joy and hope to the entire world. Through the rapid dissemination of this news, may the true peace that comes through the gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ fill all nations.

Even now, may the churches in India and Pakistan take the lead in serving according to the example of Christ and spreading grace to regions and peoples suffering from war and living a daily life of hell, thereby accelerating the preparation for Your second coming.

Therefore, through the unity and service of India and Pakistan, may nations that were once enemies experience the true love of Christ and extend genuine forgiveness. May the sending of one million missionaries from India and one hundred thousand missionaries from Pakistan be swiftly realized so that the day may come when Your kingdom is established on this earth!
