[Today’s Prayer] Hamas ramps up its fight to maintain control of Gaza... Traitors are being cracked down on and executed everywhere

Hamas, the Palestinian armed group that agreed to a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip war with Israel, is increasing its efforts to maintain control of Gaza.

Since the ceasefire agreement, Hamas has been sending its fighters out into the streets under the pretext of security, arresting and publicly executing some residents on charges such as "traitors." Reports of bloody clashes with rival opposition groups in the region have also surfaced.

According to foreign media outlets such as the British daily Guardian, Reuters, and the American CNN on the 13th (local time), Hamas has recently begun deploying armed fighters and police to some areas of Gaza.

Reuters reported that Hamas, which has been significantly weakened by the war with Israel, is moving to regain influence in Gaza after the ceasefire took effect, and that it has executed at least 33 people in a crackdown on groups that challenge its control.

A Gaza security official said Hamas killed 32 members of a "gang linked to a family in Gaza City," including six Hamas fighters.

On the same day that Hamas and Israel each released hostages and prisoners, a video was released on social media showing dozens of Hamas fighters lined up at a hospital in southern Gaza.

The Hamas-linked Telegram channel "Palestine Home Front" said the previous day that "several collaborators and informants who were found to be involved in enemy espionage and assassination of resistance fighters were arrested in Gaza City."

The channel added that "security forces and resistance fighters are conducting extensive field operations across Gaza, from north to south, to identify and arrest collaborators and informants."

This situation appears unlikely to immediately threaten the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. However, it raises concerns that Hamas' disarmament, another key component of US President Donald Trump's "Gaza Peace Plan," may not be easily achieved.

President Trump's 20-point peace plan includes the disarmament of Hamas, the establishment of a civilian government led by Palestinian technocrats, and the deployment of an international stabilization force with participation from the United States, Arab countries, and others.

President Trump said on Tuesday that Hamas has been given temporary permission to take charge of security in Gaza, amid reports that it is attacking rival groups for control of the city and building a police force.

"They want to stop the problem and have been open about it. We've given them the green light for a period of time," he said. "We want it to be safe. We think it'll be fine. Of course, we can't say for sure."

Following the ceasefire, Hamas began deploying armed fighters and police to the streets under the pretext of maintaining local security to reclaim influence in the Gaza Strip. Reports indicate they have arrested and executed some residents on charges of treason, and bloody clashes have erupted with Hamas opposition forces within the region.

God, though a ceasefire has been declared, we still see the spirit of death filling the Gaza Strip.

Lord, watch over and rule over Hamas as they temporarily take charge of security in Gaza, executing residents under the pretext of treason throughout the region and clashing with other factions while attempting to maintain control of Gaza by force.

Lord, who hears all the suffering and groaning in Gaza, have mercy on Gaza, devastated by war.

May every spirit opposing God that binds the Gaza Strip be severed, and may You rule over Gaza with Your precious blood. May every soul in Gaza know that You are Lord.

May the churches of Israel and Palestine unite in confessing that peace for Gaza lies only in Jesus, and may they advance together. Though efforts are made to envision peace for Gaza through Hamas disarmament and the establishment of a Palestinian civilian government, may the church proclaim that only the precious blood of Jesus can end conflict and turn people back to God.
