AFP reported on the 2nd (local time) that two people have died as the 'Generation Z' protests, which have continued for a fifth day in Morocco, North Africa, intensified.
According to state-run news agency MAP, police opened fire while violently suppressing protesters in the Leklia area near the coastal city of Agadir the previous day. An anonymous police official said, "Police were forced to use their weapons in self-defense to prevent attacks attempting to seize ammunition, equipment, and service weapons." They added, "Two people died from gunshot wounds during the protests, and other protesters were injured."

A loosely organized online youth group called 'Generation Z 212' clashed with police in various locations, demanding improved education and healthcare services from the government.
The Moroccan Ministry of the Interior reported that 263 police officers and 23 civilians were injured in the violent protests that erupted in several cities the previous day. He added that protesters used knives and threw Molotov cocktails and rocks, and that 409 people were detained by police.
However, the Moroccan Association for Human Rights (AMDH), a leading human rights organization in Morocco, estimates that more than 1,000 protesters have been arrested so far.
Damir, a leading local civic group, said in a statement that it "regrets the excessive response of public authorities to these protests" and urged the government to "strictly respect citizens' constitutional right to peaceful expression of opinion."

There is none like you, O Lord, among the gods; there are no works like yours. All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will glorify your name. For you are great and do marvelous things; you alone are God. Teach me your ways, O Lord; I will walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. (Psalm 86:8-11)
God, we hear that young people across Morocco have been protesting under the name "Generation Z 212," and this protest has been going on for five days.
Furthermore, we hear that two protesters have lost their lives due to the police's violent crackdown.
The number of injured and detained continues to rise with the hundreds of people still in custody.
Lord, have mercy on the Moroccan people. Have mercy on the Moroccan people, who can only do this to improve education and healthcare.
The young people of Morocco are suffering. They cry out within their own nation. We confess that only the gospel, not any protests or force, can save the Moroccan people.
Please prevent further casualties and let the Moroccan people pray to God, who knows and provides for all their needs.
Let the Moroccan YG come before the great Lord God, who performs miraculous works. May the Moroccan YG confess that there is no one like you among the gods and glorify your name.
Let the way of the Lord be proclaimed among the Moroccan people, so that the Moroccan people may walk in your truth.
We believe that the power and presence of Jesus Christ, the only truth, will come upon the land of Morocco.
Lord, rule and reign over the Moroccan people.
May the Lord's holy churches be established in Morocco, a land that has never had a church history. May the Moroccan people become a people who proclaim Jesus Christ, worthy of worship by all nations, to all nations!
May the full number of Gentiles be filled through the Moroccan people!
