[Today’s Prayer] Egypt: “No relocation of Gaza residents” … Israel: “So should we just keep them locked in?”

ree

According to Reuters on September 5th, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, while visiting Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, told reporters, “For Egypt, the relocation of residents is a red line,” adding, “We cannot allow such a thing to happen.”

Minister Abdelatty said, “Relocation means the end of the Palestinian cause,” and criticized, “There is no legal, moral, or ethical basis for expelling people from their own homeland.”

Regarding the war in Gaza, Minister Abdelatty said, “What is happening on the ground is beyond imagination,” and added, “Genocide is being committed there, and a man-made famine instigated by Israel has occurred.”

The Israeli military is preparing an offensive after the cabinet, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, approved a military plan last month to seize control of Gaza City. The Israeli army has advised local residents to evacuate to the southern region, where temporary shelters and relief supplies are being prepared.

But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol, for He will receive me. (Selah) (Psalm 49:15)

Heavenly Father, we hear the news that the Egyptian government has denounced Israel’s evacuation plan and declared it cannot accept the Israel-led relocation of Palestinian residents.

Amid the tragic events of genocide and the man-made famine caused by the Israeli military in Gaza, and as Israel prepares a military operation in Gaza City, countless Gaza residents face threats to their lives and homes. Lord, have mercy on the souls in Gaza.

Lord, visit the impoverished hearts of the people of Gaza, worn down by hunger and the suffering of war. Through those who serve with the word and love of Christ, let them receive Jesus Christ, be freed from the power of suffering and death, and worship You, the Lord of salvation.

Pour out Your Spirit upon the leaders of Israel, granting them the wisdom to resolve difficulties through Your word rather than by force, and bless them with true shalom.

Lord, let the global church watch this situation with greater concern, and may the Arab church and the Israeli church unite, praying more fervently with the heart of Jesus Christ, proclaiming the love of the cross.

Thus, we believe that Your kingdom will come upon Gaza and Israel. Raise up Your holy churches to stand and become the final disciples who lead all nations to You, O Lord!
