[Today’s Prayer] 42 degrees heat wave in central Morocco… 21 deaths
At least 21 people have died in the past 24 hours due to a heat wave in the central Moroccan city of Beni Mellal, the Ministry of Health said on the 25th local time.
Local health authorities explained, “Most of the dead were chronically ill and elderly people,” and “their health deteriorated due to the high temperature.”
According to the BBC broadcast on this day, the highest temperature during the day in the Benimellal area was 42 degrees.
According to the Moroccan Meteorological Agency, temperatures in North Africa soared from the 21st to the 24th, reaching up to 48 degrees in some areas, AFP reported.
Morocco, which has suffered six consecutive years of drought and record-breaking heat, recorded January as the hottest month since 1940.
Morocco's highest ever temperature was 50.4 degrees Celsius, measured in southern Agadir in August last year.

“For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed. The word of the Lord spread through the whole region. “ (Acts 13:47-49)
Jesus, at this hour we lift up Morocco, which is suffering from a heat wave, before you.
God of all creation, please take pity on the Moroccan people who have lost their lives and families in a record-breaking heat wave, which they have never faced before, and please control the weather in Morocco so that the extreme heat will be relieved and the gospel will reach the Moroccan people faster than death!
Make the Moroccan people a light to the Gentiles and a salvation to the ends of the earth! Make the Moroccan people a people who rejoice in Jesus and praise the Word of God!
Let there be no plague in the midst of Morocco, and let your word go forth in the midst of Morocco!
