[Field Story] Shootout near Israeli Embassy in Jordan… “Criminal killed, 3 injured”
A shooting occurred near the Israeli embassy in Jordan on the 24th (local time), with the shooter killed at the scene and three police officers injured, Reuters and AFP reported.
According to reports, a man opened fire on a patrol near the Israeli embassy in the Jordanian capital Amman early this morning.
Jordan's state-run Petra news agency reported that the man opened fire on police after they surrounded him, and that police shot him dead in accordance with the rules of engagement.
Petra News Agency also reported that three police officers were injured in the incident and are receiving treatment.
The location where the shooting occurred that day is known to be a place where anti-Israel protests often take place.
Since the outbreak of the Gaza Strip war in October last year, hostility toward Israel has been on the rise in Jordan, with large-scale protests taking place across the country.
The majority of Jordanians are Palestinians or descendants of Palestinians who fled their homeland following the creation of Israel in 1948, Reuters reported.

Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. (1 Peter 2:11-12)
In October of last year, we heard that there was a shooting near the Israeli embassy in Jordan, where anti-Israel protests have been frequent since the outbreak of the war in Gaza, and that a police officer on patrol was injured in the incident.
Jordan is home to a large number of Palestinian refugees, so anti-Israel sentiment is high, but we ask that You would reign in Your Word and guide us to see Israel and the Middle East through Your eyes, not the eyes of the world.
As you have called foreigners and the stranger to plant Your church, and loved Israel, may the churches of Jordan be used so that they abandon their hatred towards Israel and serve Israel.
Pour out your grace and faith among the Jordanian churches as they fights many spiritual battles to control the lusts of the flesh that war against the soul.
Let the global church support the Jordanian church in prayer for this work, and let peace be proclaimed through the Jordanian church to the entire Arab world in the Middle East.
As the blood flows through the heart to all the body, so may the gospel of life be preached throughout the Arab world through Jordan. May the Jordanian people rise up in the spirit of John the Baptist, who prepared for Your first coming, and proclaim the gospel of the kingdom of heaven to the nations!
