Hello? I'm Namka, and I live in Nepal.
I'm a Tibetan-Nepali; my parents are Tibetan, but I grew up in Nepal with a Hindu foundation.
After graduating high school, I was deeply troubled about my future path and needed friends to share my worries with and a place to lean on, but I couldn't find any suitable ones, so I went through a confusing period.
Then one day, I met some Korean tourist on the street and talked with them. They mentioned there was a gathering nearby with other friends, so I was invited and went.
They were Christians who held Christian worship services, so I joined them. Through that time, I heard stories about Jesus, sang along to hymns, and prayed, finding a peace in my heart I had never experienced before. I enjoyed these times so much that I wanted to attend this gathering every week.
There were also Korean university students at that gathering who were studying language in Nepal. Now, I attend the weekly Sunday meeting with them. We shout “Hallelujah!” and sing praises loudly. During small group Bible study, I ask questions when curious and eagerly share insights when I gain understanding. Recently, I learned how to pray and even led a prayer, deepening my heart for Jesus.
Please pray that I may understand God's heart for the nations and live a life that guides other friends—those living dreamless, troubled lives—to walk with me on Jesus' path!
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law (Galatians 5:22-23)
Praise be to the Lord who loves Brother Namka and guided him to attend worship gatherings during the crucial period of transition from adolescence to young adulthood.
Grant that Brother Namka, who confesses having found unprecedented peace through encountering the Lord's presence in praise and His Word, may also bear other fruits of the Holy Spirit.
Grant that the Namka brothers may experience Jesus' love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. And in Nepal's politically turbulent times, amidst anti-government protests, raise up a generation of youth and young adults who demonstrate leadership rooted in Christ's Word.
May the local churches in Nepal and the global church strive even more to bear witness to the gospel, proclaiming a vision to Nepal's youth and young adult generation. May they send out more messengers to declare God's heart for the nations beyond Nepal.
Thus, may Nepal's youth and young adults grow into God's leaders, becoming a nation that prepares for the Lord's return from the highest places!
