[Field Story] China to exempt exports to Afghanistan from tariffs starting in December… Expanding economic cooperation with Taliban
China has begun expanding economic cooperation with the Taliban, including implementing tariff-free policies on Afghan exports starting in December.
According to Afghanistan's state-run Pak Thar News Agency and other sources on the 26th (local time), Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan Zhao Xing said this after meeting with Taliban government Deputy Prime Minister Moloi Abdul Kabir, in charge of political affairs, in the Afghan capital Kabul on the 24th.
The Afghan government also issued a similar statement after its meeting with Ambassador Zhao. If Afghan exports enter China duty-free, Afghan exports to China will increase significantly and additional jobs will be created in Afghanistan, Bhaktar News Agency reported.
There is also an interpretation that China's construction of the corridor is aimed at Afghanistan's abundant natural resources, including cobalt, copper, iron, rare earth elements, and lithium. These natural resources are considered strategic resources essential to cutting-edge industries such as semiconductors, secondary batteries, and electric vehicles.
China maintains a special relationship with the Afghan Taliban regime, which regained power in August 2021. The Chinese government, which dispatched Ambassador Zhao in September last year, formally accepted the new Afghan Ambassador Bilal Karimi in January.

See how I love your precepts; preserve my life, Lord, in accordance with your love. All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal. (Psalm 119:159-160)
God, we hear that economic cooperation has expanded between Afghanistan and China through exports.
Not only that, but there is also talk of a new economic corridor connecting China and Afghanistan through Tajikistan, with talks scheduled between the three countries in the future.
We believe that it is no coincidence that Tajikistan is in between China and Afghanistan, but that it is God's special plan.
We pray that God will use Tajikistan in this endeavor.
May Tajikistan be a springboard for the gospel and a nation that will evangelize China and Afghanistan!
For this to happen, we ask that You would allow the kindness of Jesus to be in the midst of Tajikistan, so that the nation will make Your Word the only truth!
Especially, we pray that the local churches in Tajikistan will rise up in faith in Your Word, and that the churches in Tajikistan will fulfill the promise of Your Word to all nations as Jesus commanded!
Raise the Tajik people as a nation that loves only the truthful words of Jesus and boldly goes forth to all nations according to the eternal Word of God!
