[Field Story] A Victorious Nation Uniting with God, Tibet
(The photo above is not related to the content.)
Hello, I am Brother Zashi who lives in Tibet!
One day, I was sitting in a cafe when I met some Korean friends and while socializing with them, I was invited to a gathering they attended. I attended that gathering once and started attending every week after that. I became close friends with a Korean college student friend and attended the gathering regularly while listening to the sermon.
I heard the gospel of Jesus at that gathering, but it didn’t really resonate with me as I was born into a devout Buddhist family. However, when my Korean friends returned to Korea, I cried because of the regret of parting ways at the last service, and I was so sad that I went all the way to the airport to find them.
After that, all the Koreans left the area, and I was very sad, but a sister who was appointed as the leader of the house church led the gathering and I attended the gathering with my Tibetan friends.
My family has a strong Tibetan Buddhist faith, but I have been attending worship services regularly because I had the experience of living in a Christian hostel for a year when I was young. I am still learning about who Jesus is, but I feel that the way my Korean friends showed me who He is is similar to Jesus’ love.
My friends in the group want me to meet Jesus and continue to share their hearts with me. I also want to know more about who He is. Please pray with me so that I can meet Jesus and my whole life can be transformed!
He trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel, so that there was none like him among all the kings of Judah after him, nor among those who were before him. For he held fast to the Lord. He did not depart from following him, but kept the commandments that the Lord commanded Moses. (2 Kings 18:5-6)
Lord, thank you for allowing the Tibetan brother Zashi to meet a Korean, feel the love of Jesus, and hear the gospel, and for allowing the local Tibetan disciples to continuously plant the Word in the brother’s life and heart and bring him to worship.
Lord, who does not give up on Brother Zashi, please respond to the longing heart of the brother who wants to know and meet Jesus, and let him love and revere Jesus, the Savior of all nations, with all his strength, heart, and life.
So, let Brother Zashi, like Hezekiah, completely trust in God and unite with the Lord, and let him be established as a leader of Tibet who destroys idols and brings about the kingdom of God!
Lord, we pray that the Tibetan people repent of their deep-rooted Buddhist faith and keep and practice the word of God. Let the Tibetan church rise up to spread the service and love of Christ, walk with God, and achieve victory in faith!
Therefore, let Tibet and further China be transformed through the community and church of Jesus’ disciples, and let the eternal rule and presence of God come down among countless ethnic minorities!
