[Field Story] 250,000 ISIS drugs seized at school grounds in Iraq

A large amount of Captagon, called the "IS (Islamic State) drug," was found at a school site in Iraq.

The Iraqi Ministry of Interior issued a statement on the 28th (local time) and said they had seized 250,000 Captagon tablets at a school site in Ramadi, a city about 100 km west of Baghdad.

The Ministry of Interior explained that small amounts of hemp were also found along with Captagon, and that police are tracking drug traffickers.

Captagon, which is mainly composed of amphetamine, is known to be highly addictive and reduces fear and fatigue when taken, in which the IS, an Islamic extremist militant group takes going into battle.

This drug has been the biggest means of earning foreign currency for the Bashar al-Assad regime, which is subject to Western sanctions.

In March, 3 million Captagon tablets were seized in the Syrian-Iraqi border city of Al-Qaim.

Jordanian forces also carried out airstrikes on drug factories and trafficking bases along the Syrian border early last month.

We hear heartbreaking news that the lure of drugs is now lurking in this land suffering from idolatry, war, famine and disease. Lord, have mercy on this nation.

Let those who are not consoled in the emptiness of life to know Jesus Christ. Let them escape from the false pleasures and illusions like drugs.

We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, the blood of the covenant, will bring salvation to the Iraqi people. May the grace of forgiveness of sins come upon Iraq because of that blood.

Cover the land of Iraq with your blood. May all those who die in sin and suffering gain eternal life by the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

We confess that the Lord is the only hope of life. We come before that holy love and praise you for the faithful promise of salvation. May the lives of all young people in Iraq be glorified with the eternal hope of Heaven revealed by the Lord.
