Tajikistan, which became an independent nation from the former Soviet Union in 1991, is geographically located in Central Asia, but it is also a part of Persia. Moreover, it is geographically located at the bridgehead between Central Asia and Persia, allowing it to serve as a cross road for the spreading of the Gospel.
As a result of Tajikistan’s sixyear civil war, which took place just a year after its independence, half of the population lived in poverty, making Tajikistan the poorest country. Yet the Gospel began to quickly invade into the desperate hearts of many people, and the local churches experienced a revival.
Nevertheless, Islamic revival movement soon took place after the civil war, leading to persecution and bombing attacks on the Church. Many became martyrs, and many left the church in fear. But God used the short term mission trip teams to meet the souls who had left the church and were keeping their faith by themselves. Now they are restoring their faith and being built up as Disciples of Christ through Word and mission training.
Tajikistan’s government has designated 2018 as the year of tourism, traditional arts and crafts development, and it is trying to open its doors. Middle Eastern Islamic forces have plans to Islamize the Middle East as King Somoni of Tajikistan once did by finishing to build an Islamic mosque that will accommodate up to 150,000 people in Tajikistan.
Who says of Cyrus, ‘He is my shepherd and will accomplish all that I please; he will say of Jerusalem, “Let it be rebuilt,” and of the temple, “Let its foundations be laid.”’ (Isaiah-44:28)
Amen! God brought the Jewish people back to Jerusalem and rebuilt the temple through Cyrus, a gentile king of Persia. God through him, achieved all of his joys.
Now, 17 years after the terror attacks against the church, a stronger spiritual darkness is pushing in, but God is again raising up people like Cyrus! God is doing a new work in the church, where terrorism took place, so that the churches can fulfill the calling that God
has given to the nation of Tajikistan.
The churches began to have mission training and Central Asia Mission conferences. Through mission training, young people like morning dew are rising to give all their joy to the Lord! Living in one of the poorest countries in the world, the young people had to save money giving away all that they had selling their TV, clothes, and even garlic for Jesus and the Gospel to go on short term mission trips.
In the past, individuals broke through the darkness and rose for the glory of God, now they are rising up as a powerful church community where two or three people gather. They will recover the fate of Tajikistan and this nation will be a royal priest that will lead
the nations to return to Christ in the end times.
I will set my throne in Elam and destroy her king and officials,” declares the Lord. “Yet I will restore the fortunes of Elam in days to come,” declares the Lord.
Amen! Elam now refers to the Persian nations. On that day, the LORD will destroy the king and officials of the world and bring about the true fate of Persia.”
The literal meaning of the word, Tajikistan, is the country of the crown. This is how God, who names the heavens and all nations of the earth, calls this people.A nation that will take the crown!! A nation of a royal priesthood that will take the crown of life, not only for itself, but for all nations!! This is the fate of this nation! We believe that God will surely achieve this in Tajikistan by restoring mission vision.
1.Recover the identity of the Tajik people so that they would stand up as royal priests who will lead all nations to the Lord in the end times.
2. The young people like the morning dew
who will overcome the darkness of the world will arise, leading an explosive gospel and mission movement in the churches of Tajikistan.
3.”One year, 1 percent movement,” (Sharing the Gospel to the 1 percent of 8.5 million people- 85,000 people, in a year!) and the 2050 vision (Planting 50 churches by 2020) would be accomplished establishing a strong church community!
